Berryhill is Back: Manager Damon Berryhill is 179-171 (.511) in 350 games over three seasons with Gwinnett. The former Atlanta Braves catcher is the sixth skipper in club history and has a career record of 597-558 (.517) in 1,155 games across 11 MiLB seasons. His previous stops include Advanced-A Bakersfield (Texas, 2008), Rookie-level Ogden (LA Dodgers, 2009-13), Triple-A Albuquerque (LAD, 2014), and Triple-A Oklahoma City (LAD, 2015). He was named the Pacific Coast League Manager of the Year in 2015.

New-Look Field Staff: Only certified athletic trainer Nick Jensen returns from Berryhill’s 2018 staff. Pitching coach Mike Maroth (4th season with Atlanta) served the same role with Advanced-A Florida in 2018, while strength and conditioning coach Paul Howey (2nd season with Atlanta) was in the same role with Double-A Mississippi a year ago. Hitting coach Bobby Magallanes (bench coach with Triple-A Columbus in 2018) and coach Einar Diaz (coach with the Baltimore Orioles from 2013-18) are new to the Braves/Stripers.

Honoring “Mo” in 2019: All season, the Stripers will honor former coach Jose Mota, who passed away at the age of 53 on 11/6/18. Mota spent four seasons with Gwinnett (2014, 2016-18) and 22 total seasons as a coach in the Braves’ minor league system. Stripers’ jerseys feature a “JM” sleeve patch.
