They must have internet access on a nightly basis as we will be relying on our digital texts as well as an online

classroom forum called Google Classroom. Please make a plan so that students can finish homework on time.

Please make sure you have access to Infinite Campus for grade information. Please have your student show you our Google Classroom if you would like to know what is going on.

6th

Grade Social Studies

The United States

Essential Questions: How do you measure success?

This week we will be looking at the history of the U.S. from the colonies through to the end of World War II. There was a quiz today on section 1.

We will finish our look at Mesopotamia and Sumeria and have a final over the unit on Thursday or Friday. If we have time, we will begin our look at the Phonecians, Egypt, and the rest of Africa.

8th

Grade Social Studies

The Revolution

Essential Question: When is war justified?

We will finish looking at the tensions with Great Britain that caused the war and begin looking at the beginning of the war. We will be changing up how we are covering the content to give some differentiation to the class. There won’t be as much computer work during this lesson.

Continuation Info

Our next meeting is on Monday, February 8th at 4:45.

An email blast went out with information on dress code and pictures last Friday.

Weighted Grades

I do weight my grades for academic classes as follows:

Tests/Projects = 40%

Quizzes/Homework/Classwork = 35%

Notes/Participation/ = 25%

This does make it so that you can’t add up their total number of points and divide it by the total points possible and calculate a correct grade.

Please email me if you have any questions
