Our hope is that, by being cognizant of our common mistakes, we can avoid falling prey to them.Through an analysis of the common behavioral biases to which investors are vulnerable, Layton will evaluate the impact these behavioral mistakes can have on portfolios and help participants understand the importance of learning to prevent emotions from guiding portfolio decisions.

The Kinleys took home the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Vocal Duet/Group Award in 1997 and have garnered more than 20 nominations from the Grammy’s, the CMA, and the American Music Awards. Since their debut, there have been a sea of female vocal groups but none with the unique sound of The Kin-leys. As twin sisters, Jennifer and Heather possess an innate sense of harmony, and their vo-cals have never sounded better than on their latest release, All in the Family. The sisters first attracted at-tention with their debut, Just Between You and Me. Their first single, “Please,” remains the highest debuting single by a female duo in country music history, while the album’s title track was a top 10 smash. The album was certified gold and is ap-proaching the platinum sales mark. The duo also scored a hit with the inspirational “Somebody’s Out There Watching,” from the Touched by an Angel soundtrack. That song was also on their sophomore project, The Kinleys II.“We love to sing separately, but there is something exhilarating about putting our voices together,” says Jennifer. “At certain points when we’re singing, the two of us really do become one sound. It’s hard to explain, but it’s an amazing feeling.”

“It’s like we’re connecting on another level,” continues Heather. “We know each other so well that we thought that was impossible, but when we bring our voices together, it’s a dif-ferent kind of bonding experience.”The twins grew up in Philadelphia and have been performing together since they were eight. They sorted

through their parent’s records and found themselves singing a wide range of music from the Andrews Sisters to Tammy Wynette to the Everly Brothers. They learned how to hone their harmony craft by imitat-ing those Everly sounds they loved so much and eventually started listening to the local country radio station. They soon became huge fans of the family harmony of the Judds.Life following The Kinleys II brought a lot of changes, including their departure from Sony Records and their embankment into motherhood. After years of touring to support their

first two records, Jennifer and Heather took a few years off to start their families, which have inspired their lives, their music, and the title of their latest album, All in the Family. The album is on their newly formed record label, Identical Records. To further the fam-ily connection, The Kinleys

turned to Jennifer’s hus-band, singer/songwriter/producer Adam Hughes, to produce the project and to Heather’s husband, Mark Mendenhall, to lead the management team. You will hear their early musical influences when you listen to the All in the Family collection, espe-cially in the all-out rocker, “The Price of Love,” that

the Everly Brothers made famous years ago and in the album’s closer, the lul-laby The Kinleys penned called “My Baby Blue.” The duo co-wrote five songs on the project and created the unique Kinley sound that is all their own.

Lionel Cartwright began his musical career in a West Virginia basement with a player piano and a record player. His vinyl instruc-tors included the great Nashville ses-sion players, as well as Elton John and Billy Joel.At 22 years of age, he moved to Nashville. Between 1988 and 1992, Cartwright charted 12 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts, including a Number One single in 1991’s “Leap of Faith.” Other hits included “Give Me His Last Chance” and “I Watched It All on My Radio,” co-written with Don Schlitz. In 1990, Cartwright was nominated for ACM New Male Vocalist along with Clint Black and Garth Brooks. He toured extensively, sharing the stage with virtually every act in country music and chalking up thousands of performances. In addition to his performing career, Cart-wright’s work as a composer has appeared on numerous television shows and documenta-ries, a career choice that allowed him to be present and active in his children’s lives as they grew up.A lifelong creative, he continues to thrive, eagerly leaning into new ways of creating works that speak to people’s hearts.
