Pilots from any flight that will be on the ground for 90 minutes or less may go into the terminal and go to operations to pull up paperwork or call Dispatch without the requirement to clear customs. Arrival Request descent into AUA early and be prepared to be held high due to outbound traffic.

Approaches IMC: Fly the entire approach. ATC will not clear you for a straight-in approach. When able to maintain visual contact with the field, you may request to continue visually. VMC: If cleared for the visual, expect to be cleared to “circuit” altitude (VFR pattern altitude) of 1500 ft. MSL. Be prepared to join the pattern at the point requested by the controller, usually downwind or left base. You may also be asked to fly overhead for a right hand downwind.

10-7A GATEHOLD PROCEDURES The following gatehold procedures are established for overseas turbojet departures from Kona International at Keahole Airport:

a. Advise clearance delivery: “Identification, 10 minutes to taxi, destination, requested flight level”.

Disinsection Procedures Upon arrival a pesticide may be sprayed into the cargo holds before the cargo is offloaded. Ramp crew and flight crew will communicate via headset from the start of disinsection until the end of disinsection. The ramp personnel will do the following:

1. Connect headset to advise the flightdeck of the start of pesticide application. 2. Open the cargo compartments. 3. Apply the pesticide spray. 4. Close the cargo compartment for a short time to allow the pesticide to work. 5. Open the cargo compartments and perform normal cargo offload. 6. Advise the flightdeck when the pesticide application is complete. 7. Disconnect headset.

Local regulations require two-way communications between the cockpit and a designated and qualified person on the ground whenever fueling with passengers onboard. Arrival "Land After" Procedure for Runway 35R Italy’s ATC procedures do not allow an aircraft to be cleared to land until the preceding aircraft has cleared the runway. This is contrary to U.S. ATC procedures which allow controllers to issue multiple aircraft landing clearances for aircraft in sequence to the same runway. A "land after" clearance may be given to prevent the necessity of ATC issuing a landing clearance on very short final due to preceding landing aircraft clearing the runway. A "Land After" clearance may be accepted, however, the preceding aircraft should be clear of the runway prior to landing. Ramp positions are 401 through 513 which corresponds inside to B59 through B01 Departure Strict adherence to SIDs necessary for Noise Abatement. When taking off north in particular, it is critical to maintain SID specified track or assigned heading.

10-7A GATEHOLD PROCEDURES The following gatehold procedures are established for overseas turbojet departures from Kahului Airport:

a. Advise clearance delivery: “Identification, 10 minutes to taxi, destination, requested flight level”.

d. Depart the blocks within 10 minutes after receiving enroute clearance when release time is less than 15 minutes. Ready to taxi means ready to immediately depart the blocks/ taxi, tow, or pushback. Failure to do so will result in ATC canceling your clearance when other aircraft are requesting the same altitude/route and are ready to taxi.

e. Enroute clearances are based on accurate “10 minutes to taxi” declarations. Those flights that taxi without receiving any enroute clearance will receive no altitude/route priority.
