From the Principal . . . . . . . . . . .

Welcome back to school for our final term for 2018. Also a warm welcome is

extended to new students and their families who have joined, or will be joining, our

learning team here at NPS this term.

We are beginning to plan staffing for 2019 so it is essential for us to know, as near as

possible, our student numbers so that classes can be formed and staff can be allocated

to classes as well as learning support roles. If you know of families considering NPS as

the best educational option for their child/ren, please invite them, on our behalf, to

contact the school and to make an appointment time to come along to school and

look around and have a chat. Our classes are filling fast so we don’t want children to

miss placement.

We have also received great news that our Multi-Categorical (MC) class will be

established from the beginning of 2019. This specialised class will specifically support

the learning needs of students who have qualified for a place in the class. A specialist

teacher and School Learning Support Officer will be employed by the Department of

Education’s staffing procedures to run this class for the identified students.

Congratulations to everyone who is part of the terrific team that leads and cares for

‘The Patch’. We are celebrating 4 firsts and 6 second place awards for produce from

‘The Patch’ at the recent Leeton Show. Further to this the school will open up ‘The

Patch’ for the Narrandera Garden Club garden walk on Sunday, 28th October. What a

wonderful cause to support the Garden Club and Can Assist and we do hope that

many of our readers will buy a ticket and join the garden walk this year. Well done to

Lyn, Wendy and the happy band of junior gardeners for all you do to ensure we have

fresh foods from our patch.

Some upgrades to our staff room during the holidays included a new stove so some

yummy and healthy cooking using our school-grown produce will be made even more

efficient and our cooks will love it.

It is another fun and busy term here at NPS so we invite you all to stay tuned to all

events via our school website, our Facebook page and by way of these newsletters. We

also know that families will continue their team-work approach with school staff

members to support children’s learning and

wellbeing. Our School has students who are highly allergic to

NUTS and NUT PRODUCTS

We seek your co-operation in trying to keep our

school NUT FREE

This is not a school based initiative and teachers will not be in attendance.

We would value your feedback about our school!

This term our school is participating in the Tell Them From Me survey for students,

teachers and parents.

We would like as many parents as possible to complete the survey for parents at

https://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/nps2700

The Tell Them From Me parent survey provides school principals and school leaders

with parental perspectives on their school as well as learning at home. Communication

between parents and staff, activities and practices at home, and parent views on the

school’s support of learning and behaviour help build an accurate and timely picture

that schools can use to help with planning for the future.

Please know that survey responses are anonymous.

Thank you for taking part in our survey.

If you have any questions raising from the survey, please contact the school.

Students in Years 4 to 6 and teachers are also undertaking Tell Them From Me Surveys.
