Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Bluetooth with Nokia PC Suite 6.0 or Above In this document, we will talk about how Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Bluetooth stack work with Nokia PC Suite 6.0 or above. This is only for Windows XP home edition and professional edition with service pack 2 released by Microsoft. For MS Windows XP users, please go to Microsoft’s website to download service pack 2 (SP2) and install. Please also install Nokia PC Suite 6.0 or above. Here, we use Nokia PC Suite 6.2 as example, PC Suite 6.2 supports many Nokia phones, for detail information, please go to http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,54698,00.html to check. Where and how to get Windows XP SP2? Since Windows XP Service Pack 2 is released by Microsoft, it is free for end users to download. Please click Start All Programs Windows Update, system will link to the Microsoft update website. Please follow the instruction of SP2 installation to download and install.

1. Windows Update website will check latest version of Windows Update software and you computer system.

After installing Windows XP SP2, please open the Control Panel by click Start Settings Control Panel, users will see Bluetooth Devices icon. Shown as below:

Please double click this icon to run this application.

Since there is no Bluetooth device in the list, we will search Bluetooth devices, just click Add to continue.

Select “My device is set up and ready to be found.” And click ‘Next’ to continue.

when we find devices, just highlight the one you’d like to connect to, click Next to continue, if for some reason the device is not found, please make sure the device is set as discoverable mode and click Search Again button to re-search device.

We found our device, so we can process to pair computer and phones. On the phone side, user will be prompted to input the same passkey to finish pair procedure.

After pairing, Windows XP will install related Bluetooth device for your phone. And this operation will finish.

Click Finish button to finish this operation. User will see the device which you’d like to connect to is displayed on the Window. We will check the properties of this phone, so please click Properties button to continue

As the picture shown below, please reserve the “Serial Port (SPP) ‘Nokia PC Suite’”. This port will be used to by PC Suite to connect to Nokia phones. Please also run Nokia PC Suite, shown as below.
