ADVERTISEMENT Microsoft is yet to release an officialstatement on the Surface Pro 5, but itis speculated that the successor to thehighly praises Surface Pro 4 isexpected to come with several newenhancements. Fresh news says thatit may even be fitted with an eSIM,which might just change the landscapeof the company's hardware altogether.

According to a report from Yahoo, thetech giant has partnered withTransatel to produce eSIMs, whichwill sell in Microsoft Stores. However,no hardware from this company

currently supports this feature. As such, it is estimated that the upcoming SurfacePro 5 will carry the same.

The main news in this report is that the Microsoft has partnered with Transatel, aglobal mobile provider, to sell eSIM packages on the Microsoft Store. So now thecurious facet of the story is that specific devices must support eSIM for theseplans to be useful. Neither the Surface Pro 4 nor Surface Book features thehardware.

If this news will be proved to be true then the Surface Pro 5 will be so much betterthan its predecessor. The eSIM cards will allow a device to have its own internetconnection, without having to depend on Wifi. Additionally, because eSIMs areuniversal, roaming charges will be minimized. This point is for the businessprofessionals that might be the targeted audience of the device.

for mobile contracts. The purpose of eSIM is to standardize SIM cards in mobiledevices based on hardware. In the long term, this unity will allow consumers morefreedom and fewer obligations when choosing a data provider.

It is also estimated that the Surface Pro 5 will run on Windows 10 and will bepowered by Intel's latest Kaby Lake processor that might provide a 19 percentperformance bump. The Intel's Kaby Lake processor will also allow the hybriddevice to support 4K video quality.

According to iTechPost, the battery life will be improved as well with USB-C typecharging and the device is expected for release sometime in May 2017.

If we throw into the mix Intel's Kaby Lake processor, a 4K display, greater storageoptions, with higher RAM and a top-end graphics card from NVIDIA, then thepowerful Surface Pro 5 will beat all other two-in-ones.
