and this was a draft of the first WSG release that went out yesterday:

<X APRIL 2010>

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM WORLD SPORT GROUP

In response to recent reports in a section of the Indian media on matters concerning the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian Premier League (IPL), that include unsubstantiated comment and allegations about World Sport Group and its business transactions with these and other parties and/or entities, World Sport Group (WSG) wishes to clarify the following:

1. WSG strongly refutes any impropriety in relation to these matters.

2. WSG acquired the international media rights for the IPL in January 2008 for a period of ten years following a public tender process for these rights. Far from any of its dealings being “secret”, all relevant and necessary parties are fully aware of each transaction related to these rights.

3. Any allegation that WSG has used any funds received in connection with its sublicense of these rights for inappropriate or unlawful activities is completely unfounded and without substance. The baseless innuendo by undisclosed and unnamed sources has nothing to do with World Sport Group and WSG will take whatever action is necessary to uphold our reputation.

4. World Sport Group expresses its surprise and disappointment that private media transactions negotiated directly between WSG and other highly regarded companies, which was for the undisputed benefit of the BCCI, the IPL and its franchise owners, and ultimately for the sport of cricket in India, should be brought into disrepute in relation to current matters being reported in the media which are totally and unequivocally unrelated to WSG and its business dealings with any other parties.

5. WSG will cooperate fully with any authorities should they have any queries.
