The first shot shows a car travelling along a narrow road, surrounded by a wooded area.This shot is 3 seconds long, and occurs after the family leaves Juno and Beth after kayaking.

This scene begins with a close up of Jessica looking down, when Sarah turns around and comforts her daughter. This scene lasts for around a second and then the camera focuses on Sarah's face in the next shot. This shot represents the closeness of the mother and child, however the shot only lasts for a second, representing how quickly the bond can change or be broken.

This is a shot of Sarah close up, showing her concentration on Jessica instead of her husband. This shot lasts around 2 seconds, and refers to her constantly looking back at her past and her life. This is a climax for what’s about to happen, as she is giving all her attention to her most important aspect of her life.

This shot lasts for 5 seconds, which is the longest shot so far. This shot shows Paul lookingtowards his future instead of focusing on her family (past) the way Sarah is. His facial expressions also show an annoyance or unhappiness, which contradicts Sarah’s emotions.

Sarah Turns back around from concentrating on Sarah and begins speaking to Paul, showing that heIs the second most important aspect of her life. Jessica is oblivious to her parents and their Relationship, showing her typical childish behaviors. Paul continues looking forward until Spoken to by Sarah, implying his cold feelings.
