On the Great Court

It’s a good student meeting point and relaxation/leisure space.

It’s the image of UQ and its where lots of students go.

This was the first area I saw when deciding upon my future university.

I find it the most open and potentially creative space. I need to be outside in the environment to really feel comfortable at UQ

It is one of the first and most beautiful places on campus that people will know of/have heard about.

It’s the centre of uni and very beautiful

On the Installation

It will give greater voice to Indigenous Australians within a largely white university, could be good to have a more permanent installation.

I think having meaningful understanding and knowledge of Indigenous Australia is very important. The only reason I know about Aboriginal issues is because I chose to research it in year 12 history. I like the idea of Indigenous art on display (even temporarily) at UQ.

This is the first discussion about Aboriginal issues I’ve had in four years at university. I think it is important and should be discussed.

I’m looking forward to being confronted and to have my understandings/perspectives shaken up. I think its necessary for myself and my generation in regards to Indigenous matters.

As an international student I’ve learnt quite a bit about the culture. Learning more about it is somewhat relevant for students like me. It’ll make my study in UQ knowledgable and interesting.

It would enrich the cultural flavour of the Great Court and educate people in a way that is accessible but not overly “in your face”.I walk past the Great Court a lot at uni so I will notice it.

I think this is a great idea but also think you should do something permanent as this could have a “Kony effect” with most students.
