Good Afternoon Parents/Guardians,
I trust you had a great break with your family. We are nearing the end of the third
quarter, so please remind your talented children to finish strong. Next week we
have two half-days on Thursday and Friday and we will be running an Advisory
schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday. Your children can use Advisory time to meet
with their teachers and catch up on anything - assignments or assessments. We
want all our students to be Top Tigers - students with a 3. 5 GPA or higher. I hope
you have an amazing week and please contact me with any concerns or questions.

ATHLETICS
Tiger Pride
First of all, TIGER PRIDE!
Marana Athletics & News
We are in the spring athletic season with baseball, softball, tennis, track and men’s
volleyball. All programs are entrenched in the 3C’s (Culture, Commitment, and
Competitiveness) at practice, on the field, court, and on campus.
Our ladies and gentlemen Tigers got the big W against Sunnyside on the tennis courts this
past week. Both teams look very strong and are working to be very competitive this season!
The lady Tigers softball team competed well in the CDO tournament this weekend. They
played very tough competition on Thursday. They fought through three games on Saturday
and are ready to start their new season this week.
Baseball did extremely well in the Tomas Pinon Tournament in Casa Grande this weekend.
These Tigers were ready to play ball winning three of their four games.
Looking Ahead to the week of March 9th: On Thursday March 12th and Friday the 13th there
will be no activity busses due to Spring Break and end of quarter half days. Also, during
Spring Break transportation for athletic practices will not be provided. Please speak with
your athletes’ coach regarding any questions about that week.
Proud to be the AD and TIGER PRIDE!
Ms. Montiel Turner

Thank You! Special thank you to all the guest
speakers who have shared their experience and
expertise with our Academies!
WE ARE IN NEED OF GUEST SPEAKERS!
Our vision for our academies at MHS is Discover Your Place and Decide Your Plan. An
important piece of students discovering their place is to hear from adults who have a
career they love. If you would love to share your wisdom and career story with our
amazing students, we would love to have you. We have guest speakers each Wednesday
from 3:00 to 3:40. Please let me know if you are willing to come and help our students
visualize their future. Sarah Ross: [email protected]
