Tools Required

Low speed electrical mixer (max. 500 rpm) and stirring paddle, air compressor, high-pressure water jet (100-150 bars), mixing clean pails, hand tools. Preliminary Works

Prepare a grout tight formwork and kept to the strict minimum the surface area of exposed grout. Allow a pressure head for the formwork mouth and enough air escape at the opposite end refer to sketch. Estimate the required quantity of SikaGrout-210s for the daily usage to ensure sufficient material for each use and no unnecessary stoppages are encountered. Select the correct material in function of the application thickness and ambition temperatures. Application Temperature SikaGrout-210: Ambient; +0C / +15 C, Substrate; +5C / +15C SikaGrout-212: Ambient; +5C / +30C, Substrate; +5C / +30C SikaGrout-214: Ambient; +15C / +30C, Substrate; +15C / +30C Application Thickness SikaGrout-210: 10 mm min. / 30 mm max. SikaGrout-212: 10 mm min. / 75 mm max. SikaGrout-214: 10 mm min. / 30 mm max. Please only use SikaGrout for grouting works. If application thickness is thicker than recommended thickness, please use following recommendations; Up to 100 mm, 5-10 mm aggregate can be added to grout Up to 150 mm, 5-15 mm aggregate can be added to grout The amount of washed, clean and dry aggregate, which will be added to grout, must be less than half of grout amount by weight. In case of adding extra aggregate (preferably natural) to the grout, due to the reduction of cement, strengths and consistency can be reduced approx. 20-40%. Consumption 1 bag (25 kg) of SikaGrout yields to: SikaGrout-210/214: ~12.5 litres of grout SikaGrout-212: ~12.5 litres of grout Preparation

Remove all dust and debris from the substrate area using compressed air and/or water jet. On the day of application, soak the substrate thoroughly with clean water for a few hours to obtain a surface saturated dry (SSD) condition. Then remove the water and ensure that there is no ponding water prior to start work.

Mixing

SikaGrout-210/214: Water: mortar powder = 1: 7.1 to 1: 8.3 parts by weight for a mortar with good flow properties (3 - 3.5 l water per bag). SikaGrout-212: Water: mortar powder = 1: 7.7 to 1: 9.1 parts by weight for a mortar with good flow properties (2.75 - 3.25 l water per bag). Measure the appropriate quantity of water and place it into a clean mixing pail. Pour slowly the powder while mixing. Strip the sides of the container with a long spatula to ensure no unmixed grout remains stuck to the container. Continue mixing until a homogeneous free flowing grout is achieved (generally for 2-3 minutes). Application

Pour the grout through the mouth of the formwork. Allow the grout to flow to the opposite end. Depending on the size of the base plate, in order to help the grout to flow through the end, it might be necessary to rod the grout with a thick wire. Maintain a pressure head while pouring and ensure that the process is continuous to avoid air entrapment. Pour until the grout is up to the top of the plate. This will force the material to the plate bottom and achieve a maximum effective bearing area (EBA). Curing

Cure exposed area with proper curing method for 3 days or spray this area the relevant curing compound once the grout starts to stiffen. Cleaning

Use water to clean tools while material is still not harden. Safety

As cement is alkaline and may cause irritation to certain allergic people, applicators are recommended to wear gloves and goggles while working with SikaGrout-200s. In case material gets into eyes, wash immediately with clean water. If irritation persists, seek medical assistance.
