Messiah Serves: Our Social Ministries and Outreach Dawn Johnson – 972-948-8966 – [email protected]

The mission of our Outreach Ministries is to be Jesus’ hands to our church, city, national, and international community. We do this through weekly opportunities for hands-on service such as those listed below and also through contributions to community charities such as Network of Community

Ministries and the Assistance Center of Collin Country, wonderful organizations who are equipped to deal with the long-term needs of struggling individuals.

Thank you for supporting our Thanksgiving/Fall Harvest Service Project!

I would like to thank Messiah Lambs, who made the Thanksgiving cards for the Thanksgiving/Harvest Boxes and Good Sam Bags that were delivered to Meals on Wheels clients for this Thanksgiving. I also want to thank each of you for your wonderful generosity that will enable us to help over 100 families and seniors. Thank You!

Messiah’s production team is so excited for this year’s Christmas Cantata The Thrill of Hope

The last few services have been so much fun. We would love it if you could join us in serving in this

special way! Below are a few areas we need some help with. If you have one of these gifts or would like to learn more about how to put on a production, please talk to Toby Meeks.

Sound Technician

We have a very dedicated sound design team that serves every Sunday. We need someone to help actors put on and take off their microphones. This is a great way to learn how the sound in our Sanctuary works.

Media Operator This year we plan to use the full capability of our projection system. This means we need 3 people to use a PowerPoint-like software. These operators will be told when to change the slides in real time by the Stage Manager, which makes this a really easy way to help out!

Lighting Operator Our lighting system can do a lot, but only if someone pushes the “Go” button at the right time! This operator will listen to the Stage Manager in real time, which makes this a really easy way to help out!

Actors This year we are doing a series of vignettes and movements. There will be very few lines spoken, so this is a great year to be on the stage if you don’t like public speaking.

Costumes and Props

Messiah has a closet FULL of beautiful biblical costumes. We need someone with an eye for clothing to choose costumes for our actors and help them stay organized.

Scenery Construction

If you have the ability to build, we need you! We plan to build several box walls to provide a backdrop for our actors. We will also need some strong arms to put it all together.

Camera Operator/Photographer We love to preserve this special presentation so we can share it with those who can’t be with us. We have all the equipment to make a high quality recording, we just need you!

Media Designer This year we plan to use the full capability of our projection system. This means we need will need a lot of images strung together in a PowerPoint-like software. If you have a knack for Photoshop or visual media creation, let us know.

Stage Manager This person should be very organized and able to give clear direction. This person will follow the script and make sure that all of the operators know when to push their “Go” button.

Stage Hand

Possibly the most important person in any production, we need somebody to be around and able to help with whatever. We need someone to take care of the unexpected, and work in the “engine” of the production to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Rehearsal Schedule

Tue Nov. 26th—7pm-9:30pm—Rehearsal Tue Dec. 3rd —7pm-9:30pm—Dress Rehearsal Tue Dec. 10th—7pm-9:30pm—Final Dress Rehearsal Sun Dec. 15th—8am-12pm —Cantata in both services

Remember, it just takes a small amount of faith and effort on our part for God to do BIG THINGS. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
