Dear Parents and Carers
YaamaIt’s so hard to believe it’s the last week of Term 1. This term has just flown by so quickly but it certainly has been a great term. I’d like to thank the parents and carers for supporting the school and our students through this term, our staff for the amazing job they do every day and to our students for coming to school ready to learn and work hard.
Last week I was given notice that Mrs Roser-Whitney’s position was to be filled by the transfer of a new permanent staff member to our school. Ms Casey Howard will begin teaching at our school in Term 2. Ms Howard comes with a wealth of experience and will be taking the Year 3/4 class. I would like to thank Mrs Roach who has taken the Year 3/4 during Term 1 for the amazing job she has done with our students. Under the teaching of Mrs Roach our Year 3/4 class have been given a great start to the year and I know the children in Year 3/4 will miss her. A note has gone home today to the parents and carers of Year 3/4.
WerrisCreekANZACDayMarchThis year we will be marching as a school in the Anzac Parade on Thursday 25th April. Students will need to wear full summer school uniform. The school will hold its own Anzac service on Tuesday 30th April at 10:40am. All are welcome to attend.
Return to school Term 2Staff will return to school on Monday 29th April 2019. On this Staff Development Day we will be doing professional learning in Writing, Building Numerate Students and looking at our School’s Strategic Plan.
All students will return to school on Tuesday 30th April 2019.Kind RegardsJodie Bishop, Principal

Principal for a SessionLast week saw our very first Student Principal. Mr Ashton Allan from Kindy stepped up into the roll and had a very busy session. He signed lots of paperwork, did some computer work, gave out Principal stickers, addressed and led the assembly and checked in on all of our classes. He even wrote a report stating that his favourite part of the job was handing out stickers. Well done Mr Allan for doing an amazing job!
A big Thank you to the Friends of the Werris Creek
Library who visited our assembly last Friday to
present a gift bag to our Kinder students to start them
on their reading journey....
Thank you they were very much appreciated......
