We did some new things and maintained some of the old. I hope we can reflect on those times and keep what was good and change those things that need changing. We have a new helmsman, Jim Edwards, taking the wheel and I offer him my full support and best wishes. I do not know if you all realize how critical you are to the success or failure of each incoming Senior Counselor. Let's get behind Jim and support him in his efforts to lead us forward. Ken Milliser- Senior Past Counselor ****************************** Thanks goes out to Sharon Kossman-PGC for serving the Council as Secy.Tres. for the past 15 years plus. Her dedication was deeply appreciated. ****************************** Welcome to Columbus Council # 1 members, friends. I feel like a working lady in Church, more than a little nervous. SENIOR COUNSELOR a West Virginia coal miner’s son - really. Well here I am new blood, new cheese (green no experience). It goes without saying that I will need everyone’s support for this first timer. Knowing the members of Council #1, I feel confident that I will get all the help a first timer needs. I want to thank everyone for their continued support by serving Columbus Council # 1. It was a big help to me that you all agreed to continue to serve on the committee appointments. I want to thank David and Phyllis Burt for doing the installation this year. I want to thank all the past counselors for having the trust and confidence to select me for this office. It is my hope and prayer that I will be able to serve the Columbus Council # 1 with Unity, Charity and Temperance. Naturally like all past Senior Counselor’s we not only need new members we want new members. Some of you members in long standing remember the days when Council # 1 had an attendance of 40 or 50 at the council meetings. Would not a repeat of that number be exciting and inspiring?
