An inspiring and totally individual contemporary coastal home with a superb specification and sea view. Guide Price £1,200,000

The Property A superb home of quality incorporating a liberal use of oak joinery, powder coated aluminum fenestration and exceptional insulation in a fine coastal position with views to Looe Island. The house was a virtual re-build in 2006, the concept of the present owners who have incorporated considerable technology and given a great deal of thought to the use of porcelain, travertine and granite and to the proportions of space in the innovative design. The spacious kitchen/breakfast room and its balcony offer amazing coastal views, and there is internal access from the generous double integral garage to the accommodation above; Being on four levels allows highly flexible room designation between bedrooms and generous living space.

The Location The house is in an elevated position in Plaidy overlooking the sea and on the coastal path giving easy walking to Looe itself. With little passing traffic it is a peaceful setting for this special family home. Within half a mile are the Barbican’s local shops, post office, bus service and a junior and middle school. There is a small local beach about 100 meters from the house. The exclusive area of Plaidy lies just to the east of Looe, one of Cornwall’s main harbourside towns straddling the estuary. The quaint buildings and quaysides of this bustling ancient port provide a picturesque scene offering many varied restaurants, shops and services and is known for its deep sea fishing and angling activities. Boat trips offer opportunities for visiting the nature reserve of Looe Island. The sandy beach offers safe swimming and there are spectacular coastal walks and woodland trails away from the sea together with a nearby golf club. There is a scenic rail link to the mainline station at Liskeard.
