The HOA Board of Directors have reached out to multiple fence repairing companies. At this time, there is only one company willing to repair the fence. The cost to repair it is very high. The boards desire is to see a new barrier wall added by INDOT. The wall would be an asset to our community and a relief to all residents in Meridian Place subdivision. PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR PET

It doesn't take much to remember that we have pets in our community. In fact, if you don't watch your step, your liable to

step in one such reminder!

Besides being unsightly and smelly, animal waste can be hazardous to the health of our children who play in the community and other pets. One of the most common forms of disease transmission between dogs is through fecal matter.

It is important to remember to immediately clean up after your pet. Take along a baggie with you to pick up waste with and then dispose of it properly.

By taking a few simple steps to clean up after your pet, you can contribute not only to the beautification of our community, but also towards the elimination of one of the most irritating nuisances in our community. Thank you for your cooperation!

PARKING

It is important that you be courteous in the way you park. Do not park in front of mailboxes, walkways or other homeowner’s driveways. Park the correct direction. Most driveways allow for 2-4 vehicles in them , however you can also park two in your garage.

CHILDREN PLAYING IN THE STREETS

This continues to be an issue. Children should stay on the sidewalks, unless they need to go around a parked vehicle. They should, at that time, proceed with caution. Parents please talk to your children.

REMINDER - SLOW DOWN!

SLOW DOWN! HUMAN CONDITIONS! PROCEED

WITH CAUTION

The speed limit inside the community is 30MPH, HOWEVER there is a human condition, which means you need to SLOW DOWN!

Just like driving on ice, you need to maintain your speed based on the condition. There are many children in this community who play near the streets, along with animals and people walking or jogging. Our streets are narrow. To keep our community safe, owners and guests need to adhere to condition inside our community. Be careful to watch for animals and children especially!

REMINDER - SPEED LIMIT INSIDE MERIDIAN PLACE IS 30 MPH, WHICH IS STILL WAY TOO FAST!

PUT A LEASH ON YOUR PET! There have been several pets running loose in the

neighborhood. Please take proper care of your pets. Keep your pets confined at all times. When walking your dog in our community, remember that it should be leashed. If you are unfamiliar with the Indiana codes regarding pets, you may

visit http://www.in.gov/boah/2362.htm

Indianapolis Code 531-102a provides: An owner or keeper of an animal commits a violation of the Code if that animal is at large in the city. At large means not confined without means of escape of any portion of the animal's body in a pen, corral, yard, cage, house, vehicle or other secure enclosure, unless on a leash and under the control of a competent human being.

LET’S KEEP OUR COMMUNITY CLEAN

If you see trash on the common ground, please pick it up. This could be from someone’s overflowing can or a walker who discarded an empty water bottle. No matter the source of these

“eyesores,” this is our neighborhood and its condition reflects on all of us.

TRASH CONTAINERS:

Trash container’s should be placed at the curbside by 7:00 a.m. every Wednesday and brought back and

placed OUT OF SIGHT from the street by Wednesday evening.

HEAVY TRASH PICKUP

Heavy trash is collected monthly on the 4th Wednesday of every month. Please contact the city to let them know that you will have heavy trash to be picked up. You can go to their online link http://www.indy.gov/RequestIndy to place your request. If you have questions or concerns about your weekly trash or heavy trash collection, please contact the Mayor's Action Center online or call (317) 327-4622.

FALL LEAF PICK UP

During leaf collection season, you can dispose of 40 bags of leaves each week with your regular trash. This year, leaf season runs from Monday, November 11 through Friday, December 6.

Put the leaves in large plastic trash bags, and put the bags in your trash cart or on the street by 7 a.m. on your collection day. Keep the leaf bags 3 feet away from your cart collection area and out of sidewalks and public rights-of-way.

The collected leaves will be composted at South Side Landfill. In the spring, the mulch will be available for use in your garden. South Side Landfill’s address is 2561 Kentucky Ave., and the phone number is 317.247.6808.

If you need to dispose of leaves outside of leaf collection season, you can take them to the Citizens’ Transfer Station at 2324 S. Belmont Ave. on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fee is $2 per carload and $5 per truckload.

If you’re handing out treats, please turn on your porch light!!

May you and yours have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
