I have designed four different sized boxes for my products. I will go to the post office and package it depending on how big the order is and where it is going. I will use Australia Post and their boxes,

satchels and bags and apply stickers with my logo on them.

Super Helse is opning their first store in Oslo, (Norway) in June and asked me if my products could be sold there. I thi nk that is a brilliant ide! They sell superfood and health products, imported straight from their factory in India. They also sell sports clothes and I think my products will give the shop the final little touch!

I have made a facebook page and I already have over 100 likes. This is a good way of reaching out to friends and family. My strategy is to use the sosial networks and make my friends and family wear and use my products.

Instagram is a good way of marketing. It reaches out to more people outside your friends and family circle. Adding the two networks together is dynamite!

Public Disclosure SummaryMEOW by Cat is a young and fresh brand designing unique handmade crocheted products like wallets, cases, headwear, footwear and clothing for the young and fun mind of all ages.

Venture OverviewI am selling handmade crocheted products such as wallets, cases, headwear and also clothing. I believe my products are unique because they are handmade and there will be no one like them. Because most people own an iPad or iPhone or similar they want to “customize” it by having different covers. I can provide that to the people. And when they have the product and are falling in love with it, they will buy a matching wallet, beanie or headband…maybe even a t-shirt! Who knows?

Target audience/marketMy target audience is most females but hopefully also males aged 15-40. I can imagine that my products will be popular among ski/surf/skate interested people but also others. The market is therefor big and easy to reach out to. I am now producing different products for different uses, so it is possible that people will buy more than one product. It is likely that they will buy matching items if they like the design or colour choice. I think that people will buy my products because they want their own style, and not have the same as everyone else. It is out to be mainstream.

ResourcesI make the products myself. I get the fabrics and yarn from a local shop. As long as I can buy supplies that I need I will be good. If they run out of a product or stop selling it I will simply choose a different one. Because it is handmade and all the products are unique, I can easily make a product with different yarn or fabric and make it a new collection. I also rely on the Australian post services and their packaging products, which I believe is safe. I don’t have a car anymore, which makes it harder but not impossible to get supplies. Moneywise I am in zero and I hope I can sell some of my products that I have made and get money to produce more!

DevelopmentI need the money and the time to produce more and I also need to work on the marketing of my business. I have already been in touch with people who would like to sell my products in their shops, and I am also planning on having a stand on a local market. In time, when the sales are increasing I would propably look at a way to get help with the production. It would be to save money and also time, so I can spend time on other important aspects of the business. I also need to fi nd a good solution for my coming clothes collection, such as t-shirts, singlets, sweathers, and so on. I imagine myself doing arts like drawings, vectors, and a combination of the two to apply on clothing.

Crochet the cancer away!Norwegian brand MEOW by Cat is partnering with Pink Ribbon to raise money for breast cancer research and to create awareness around the subject by creating a pink

crocheted pair of slippers, with all profits going to the Pink Ribbon foundation during the month of October.

1.3 million women worldwide are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, and one in eight women in Australia will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. More than half of all breast cancers in Australia are discovered by the woman herself or her own doctor, and early detection is the best protection - the earlier a cancer is discovered, the greater the chances of successful treatment.

Pink Ribbon is a non-profit organisation and is organised exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes. Their mission is to create worldwide awareness for breast cancer, provide information, resources, support and guidance for patients, caregivers, providers, and all persons whose lives have been affected directly or indirectly by breast cancer, as well as promote and focus research into the causes, prevention, treatment, cure and other medical aspects of breast cancer. “It is such an important topic, I don’t think young women are aware of how big the chance of getting breast cancer is, and we want to make sure we create awareness”, says Catherine Esmark Tollefsen, founder of MEOW by Cat. By creating a pink product, MEOW by Cat will join the fight against breast cancer, and become a part of the cure by donating all profits from the sales to Pink Ribbon.
