New features============Men of War: Assault Squad 2 comes with many newfeatures which make the game more accessible fornewcomers and also give an experienced playerabetteroverviewofthebattlefieldalongwithmuchmoreuser-friendlysquadmanagement.
Each squad or armored unit is now representedbyasmallhoveringiconwithavisualrepresentationoftheunit’stype.Thesameiconcanbealsofoundin the lower left corner, replacing the old setoficonsfromthepreviousgame.Byclickingsquador unit icon, you can quickly select a squad ora unit based on their displayed specialization.If the squad consists of several soldiers, eachofthemisshownasasmalldotnexttotheiconinthelowerleftcornerofthescreen.Dependingonthesoldier’shealth,thedotchangesthecolourordisappearscompletely.Youcanalsotellwhetherthe squad has a heavy anti-armour weapons (likeabazooka)bylookingforanorangestripeatthetopofthesquad icon. AT-rifleisrepresentedbya yellow stripe. If your unit is under attack,anorange/reddotstartsflashinginthesquadicon.

Soldiersarenowabletosharetheirammunitionandothersuppliesamongasinglesquad.Onceyouopenastorageboxandaddammunitiontoyourinventory,notice the yellow flashing icon above the headsof your soldiers showing the distributionof supplies. Total number of different typesofammunitionisshownontherightsideofthemainpanel.Whenaunitrunsoutofammoaflashingrediconisdisplayed.
Men of War: Assault Squad 2 comes with a newexperience system, which allows you to level upby collecting experience points (EXP). These areawarded for unlocking achievements and playingmultiplayergamesviaMatchmaking.TheMatchmakingservice takes your level into consideration andpitsyouagainstsimilarlyskilledplayers.Asyouwillnoticeduring thefirsthours withthegame,someunitsarelockedbydefaultandyoucanaccessthem only after reaching a certain level. Thepurposeistogiveanewcomerachancetounderstandthepurposeofcertainbasicunits,beforemovingonto advanced ones. On the other hand, moreexperiencedplayerswillbeabletounlockalltheunitsquitequicklydependingontheirskill.Thisfunctionalitycanbedisabledincustommultiplayergames.
Main Menu=========Skirmish–begin,continueorloadanewmission.Multiplayer–joinamultiplayer gameonalocalnetwork,orjoinanInternetmultiplayergameusingSteamservers.Bonus Content–Purchasenewdownloadablecontentfromthedevelopersordownloadcontentcreatedbythecommunity.Options–modifygamesettings.Credits – view the list of people who workedonthegame.Exit–returntoWindows.
Single Player=============SelectingtheSkirmishitemontheMainMenuwillallow you to continue a game in progress, startanewgameorloadapreviouslysavedgame.
ContinueThe Continue Menu item will allow you to returnto the game currently in progress and continueplaying.

Select MissionThis item will allow you to select campaigns,missionsanddifficultysettings.
Load GameThis item allows you to load a previously savedgame. To load a save, select it from the savegamelist,reviewallpertinentinformation(dateandtimewhenthegamewassaved,relevantcampaignormission)andthenclicktheLoadbutton.

Saving the gameInordertosavethecurrentgame,opentheGameMenu and select the Save option. The Save Gamewindowwillopen.Enter a name for your save and click the Save button.

Deleting a SaveInordertodelete apreviously saved game, opentheGameMenuandselecttheSaveorLoadoption.TheSaveorLoadGamewindowwillopen.Select a save you no longer need and clicktheDeletebutton.

This panel shows information on the currentlyselectedunit.Ifavehicleisselected, thepanel willdisplaythevehicle’sblueprint,anybattledamage,aswellasitsmaincharacteristicsandfuelstate.Theweaponpanelswilldisplayanyweaponscurrentlyinstalledonthevehicleandtheammunitioncurrentlyloaded.Ifanindividualisselected,thepanelwilldisplayhisportrait,class,name,health(redbar),stamina(bluebar)andkillcountstatistics.Ifasquadisselected,thenthepanelwilldisplaythesquadcommander’sinformation.Foranindividual,theweaponpanelswilldisplayany currently equipped weapons, the individual’sskillwithcurrentweaponsandammunition.

Infantry--------Allsquadsarecontrolledbytheircommanders.Allsquadmemberswillfollowthecommanderandexecutehisorders.Selected units are highlighted differently basedonstatus.Commandersareshownasyellowtrianglesand squad members as white circles. Selectinga squad commander will automatically select allsquadmembersaswell.
RiflemenA rifleman is an average infantryman, armed witha rifle and a pair of anti-personnel grenades.Riflemenareeffectiveagainstsofttargetsatmediumandlongrange.
SMG InfantryThese infantrymen are well suited to assaultingenemypositionsanddefendingfieldgunsandarmoredvehicles.Submachinegunsareespeciallyeffectiveat close and medium range and keeping anti-tankgrenadesintheirinventorywillmakeSMGInfantryeffectiveagainstarmoredvehiclesaswell.
SniperSnipersengageenemypersonnelatlongrange.Whenin Direct Control mode, snipers will even spotenemyscoutshidinginbushes.Asniperalsokeepsseveralcamouflagebushesinhisinventory.
Weapon SkillsEach soldier has his own individual weapon skillwithdifferentweapontypes.Anindividual’sskillwithanindividualweaponisshownwithstariconsin the primary weapon slot. Higher weapon skillmeansimprovedaccuracy.
Disabling Artillery PiecesItisofteneasiertoneutralizethegunnersthantodisablethegunitself.Infantryiswellsuitedtotheformertask.Ifyoucannotflankagun,usegrenades.
Vehicles--------Vehicle InformationVehicle information is displayed whenever yourunitsoccupyavehicle.Damagelevelsarehighlightedindifferentcolorsbased on severity. Red can be repaired but greycannot.Additionalinformationtotherightofthedamagedisplay shows the vehicle name and type, armorthicknessandstate,numberofcrewpositions,topspeedandfuelstate.
Tank ArmorTheengineisthemostvulnerablepartofatank;hitsonfrontalarmorareusuallylesseffective.If you are unable to penetrate the armor fromthe front, try to knock out a track and flankthe vehicle. Your vehicle’s armor is shown intheinformationwindow;enemyarmorwillbedisplayedwhenyouaimatanenemyvehicle.
Penetrating ArmorUsearmor-piercingshellstoattackarmoredvehicles.(APagainstsoftarmored,APCRagainstheavilyarmoredvehicles)Factorssuchasyourweapon’scaliber,enemyarmorthickness,hitangleanddistancetotargetareallimportantindeterminingwhetheryourshellpenetrates or bounces off. Smaller caliber shellsarelesseffectiveagainstthickerarmor.Glancinghitsarelesseffectivethanhitsatstraightanglesand,asashell’sspeedgoesdownwithrange,theybecomelesseffectiveatadistance.
Armored VehiclesLightvehiclesareusedforreconnaissance,infantrysupportorrapidoffensiveoperationsinenemyrear.Medium tanks are fairly fast and well armed andarecost-effective.Heavytankscarrytheheaviestweaponsandtheirarmorcanwithstandagreatdeal

of punishment. However, their weight negativelyimpactstheirmaneuverability.
Vehicle CrewsAvehiclecanbecrewedby1to5men.Somevehiclescan also transport up to10passengers.Thecrewpaneldisplayseachcrewmember’shealthstate and the crew position they hold (e.g.commander,gunner,driver,andloader).Ifavehicledoesnothaveafullcrewcompliment,existing crew members will automatically switchpositions as needed. For example, if a tank ismannedbyasinglecrewman,hewillswitchbetweendriving,loadingandfiring, butwillnotbeabletodotwothingsatthesametime.
Ammunition and EquipmentYour soldiers can access a vehicle inventory inasimilarwaytosearchingdeadbodies.Theycanaddshells,ammobelts andother items toavehicle.Whenloadingadditionalammunition,payattentiontothecaliberandmakesurethatnewammunitioniscompatiblewiththevehicle’sweapons.Payattentionto shell types. HE shells are marked with greenprojectile heads, AP shells with grey projectileheads,APCRshellswithblackheadsandSmokeshellswithwhiteheads.
Repairing VehiclesYoursoldierscanrepairbrokenvehiclecomponentsbyusingarepairkit.Thereareseveralwaystodothis.Youcanhighlightasoldier,presstheRepair
button andclickthedamagedvehicleyouwishtorepair.Alternatively,youcanhighlightavehiclecurrentlymanned by your soldiers, and press the Repairbutton.Inthatcase,oneofthecrewmenwillunloadandbegintherepairprocess.
At the PumpArmor and heavy weapons come at a cost: seriousdiesel mileage. If you run out of diesel, yourvehiclewillbecomeimmobilizedand,assuch,will
beaneasytarget.Yourmencanaddfueltovehiclesat any time if they have a fuel container suchas a barrel or a jerry can and, of course, somesparefuel.Youcangetfuelfromanyvehicleinthegamethat’snotburnedout.
Capturing Enemy VehiclesTo gain advantage on the battlefield, capturingenemyvehiclesisoftenessentialbutyouwillneedto dispose of the previous crew and repairthevehicleifitwasdamaged.Yourmencancrewanyemptyvehicleonthebattlefield.
Transporting ArtilleryEachartillerypieceinthegamehastwopositions,towed and firing. You can switch between themby clicking on the corresponding icon inthe interface. Double-clicking any area onthemapwithanartillerypieceselectedwillmovethe piece into the towed position and will takeit to the specified location. You can also useaprimemovertotowthingsfaster.Todothis,movea compatible vehicle to the artillery piece andpressthecorrespondingiconintheinterface.Itwillbehitcheduptothevehicleandreadytomove.
Weapons-------Selecting and Switching WeaponsTo switch weapons, left-click the weapon icon inthe weapons panel and select the desired weaponfromthepop-uplist.

Armor-Piercing ShellsAP/APCRroundsareusedtodisablearmoredvehicles.High Explosive shells contain a large explosivewarheadthatdetonatesonimpact.Theyareeffectiveagainst personnel and soft targets and can alsodestroy buildings. You can switch between theseshelltypesquicklybypressingtheSpacekey.
Heavy Machine GunsHeavy machine guns are often used defensivelytohaltadvancinginfantry.Rapid-firing AAA guns, such as the PKP, Flak 38and the Oerlikon, are effective against lightarmoredvehiclesaswellaspersonnel.
MortarMortar is an indirect fire muzzle-loaded weapon,capable of engaging targets with high-arcingballistic trajectories. This weapon’s recommendedpositionisbehindcover,outofdirectfirerange.

HowitzerHowitzers are heavy artillery pieces firing high-explosiveshellsattrajectorieswithasteepangleofdescent.Theirlowaccuracyiscompensatedforbylongrangeandexceptionallethality.However,howitzers have a limited traverse angle. If youwish to change your aiming direction, you mightneed to reposition the howitzer itself by usingtheRkeytoturn.
Inventory---------Eachunitinthegamehasitsowninventory,whichcontains various relevant items such as shellsandammunition,individualequipmentsuchashelmetsandvests,andsoon.Ammunitionandgrenadesaresharedbetweensquadmembers.
Whenyousearchdeadbodies,containersorvehicles,
two inventory screens will open. The windowontheleft-handsidecontainsthecurrentlyselectedunit’sinventoryandtheright-handsidecontainsthe inventory of the object you are currentlysearching. To open the Object Transfer window,selectoneofyoursoldiers,thenpresstheXkey
(thecursorwillthenlooklike )andclickonanotheroneofyourmenoronanobjectyouwishtosearch.Itemscurrentlyusedbyasoldierwillbehighlightedinblue.Tomoveanobject,right-clickit,ordraganddropitwiththeleftmousebutton.Youcanalsoexchange items viathe"TakeAll"and"GiveAll"buttons.If you wish to get rid of an item, draganddropitbeyondtheinventorywindowsandreleasetheleftmousebuttonoverthegameworld.Theitemwillbedroppedonthegroundnexttothecurrentlyselectedunit.In a squad, the commander will automaticallydistributeammo,grenades,medkitsandotheritemsasneeded.

clickthevehicle.Thecursorwillchangeinto .Thecurrentlyselectedsoldierwillthenproceedtofillthecontainerwithfuel,afterwhichthecursor

ExplosivesIn order to set a mine, press the button,andclickaspotalongalikelyenemyroute.Yourselectedunitorsquadwillthenproceedtominetheentireareafromtheircurrentpositiontothespotyouclick.Tosearchforenemymines,usetheminesweeper .Unlikemines,whichhaveacontactfuse,dynamite
explodesonatimer.
Cover and Camouflage-------------------Practically any object can be used as cover. Inordertotakecover,movethecursorovertheobject.Thecursorwillchangeintoasilhouetteshape .Right-clickthecover.Coverwillnotonlyprotectyourmenfromsmallarmsfire,butwillalsolessentheeffectofHEshellsandgrenadesthatgooffinthevicinity.Usefencesandotherbarriers,aswellasbuildingwalls, to provide additional protection for yourarmoredvehicles.Camouflage makes your men harder to spot. Bushes,long grass and other vegetation will make yoursoldiersinvisibletotheenemyuntilyourmenopenfire.
Other Features--------------Field of ViewEachcombatunithasitsownfieldofview,withinwhichitcanspotenemyunitsandtakeappropriateaction. In order to lock a unit’s field of view,usetheTurncommand (Rkey)inconjunctionwiththeHold Positioncommand.Toseeanenemyunit’sfieldofview,deselectanyofyourunitsfirst,andthenleft-clicktheenemyunit.Theenemyfieldofviewwillbeshowninred.Toexittheenemyfieldofview,left-clickanemptyspotontheground.
Calling ReinforcementsYouwillbeabletocallinreinforcements.When reinforcements are available, theright-hand side of the screen willdisplay the amount of different typeof units available per menu. Manpower(MP) is accumulated depending on themultiplayer settings or the strategiczonesyoucapturedinaskirmishmatch.
