Memory skills
This is how quickly your brain forgets things
As a learner…
You need to think about what you can do to capture information at the highest peak. There are many different ways you can learn things that will work for you as a learner:
• You might read things aloud
• You might use look, cover, check.
• You might chunk information down into sections
• You might re-write information or organise it with headings or in notes
• You might use highlighters or post-its
On the next slide
• You will see an image that is cluttered with things.
• You have 60 seconds to memorise what is there.
• How will you remember the objects?
What did you remember?
If you got lots of the items well done.
If you didn’t get many – better luck next time.
• How did you remember what was there?
• How can you improve your memory and recall skills?
• How can you develop your skills of picking out what is important?
