MEMORIALS IN ST. MARTINS, KILLARA St. Martin’s Killara is an Anglican Church in the Sydney Diocese of the Anglican Church of Australia. Killara is on Sydney’s North Shore, 16 kms from the Sydney CBD, and the church was established in 1911. This list documents inscriptions on windows, furniture and some liturgical items in St. Martin’s. Some inscriptions are memorials to persons associated with St. Martin’s; others record the names of benefactors who donated items. For ease of editing and updating the list is sorted by the names of memorialised persons and benefactors. In some cases there is more than one entry – one for a memorialised person and others for benefactors/relatives with a different name. The list is a work in progress; please contact the Hon. Archivist if you know of someone who should be listed but is not. The list does not include the names of persons whose ashes are immured in the church’s Columbarium. Most of the persons listed lived in Killara, but it is important to note that in some cases the memorialised person or donor(s) lived elsewhere, particularly the adjacent districts of Lindfield and Gordon. In its early days many of the people who worshipped at St. Martin’s had previously been associated with the Church of St. John the Evangelist, Gordon, the mother church of St. Martin’s Killara. Please visit www.stmartinskillara.org to learn more about the history of St Martin’s. We would love to hear from you, especially if a member of your family is mentioned on a memorial plaque stained glass window or other fixture in St. Martin’s. Better still, come to one of our services, or contact our Honorary Archivist. Our services are set out at www.stmartinskillara.org , The Archivist can be contacted through the church office [email protected] . *Anonymous An anonymous gift E.W. 1962 Brass plaque on pew in nave *Anonymous A gift from a grateful family Brass plaque on pew in nave *Anonymous A gift from a grateful parishioner 17 th April 1961 Brass plaque on pew in nave *Donors to the [World War 1] War Memorial Fund To the glory of God in memory of those who gave their lives in the Great War 1914-1918 Brass plaque on base of Communion Table in sanctuary *St Martin’s Sunday School A gift from the children of St Martin’s Sunday School Brass plaque on side table in Chapel Adams A gift from Mr & Mrs F.E.
