Laura A. Huebinger Extension Program Specialist 4‐H & Youth Development SUBJECT: 2017 DISTRICT 8 4‐H CLOTHING & TEXTILES EVENTS Enclosed you will find the 2017 District 8 4‐H Fashion Show, Fashion Storyboard, Trashion Show, and Duds to Dazzle contest information.

Time: The Fashion Show & Duds to Dazzle Contests will be held on the same day. 4‐H members may participate in both events. They will be judged in Fashion Show first, then compete in Duds to Dazzle.
The concession stand will be open to purchase food for lunch or snacks. The schedule is TENTATIVE until entries are received and processed.

Deadlines: All entries will be completed on 4‐H Connect at https://texas.4honline.com/. Opens: Monday, March 6, 2017 Closes: Friday, March 24, 2017
County Approvals:
County offices need to approve registrations on 4‐H Connect by Monday, March 27, 2017.
Senior Paperwork:
Paperwork for Senior Fashion Show (Buying, Construction, Natural Fiber) must be uploaded on 4‐H Connect by the deadline. Senior paperwork judging will be conducted remotely. It is scheduled for judging to take place between Wednesday, March 29 and Tuesday, April 4.
Junior and Intermediate Paperwork:
Paperwork for Junior and Intermediate Fashion Show participants will not be judged prior to the day of the Fashion Show. Participants will bring two copies of their paperwork with them to the contest.
Storyboards: In addition to the registration on 4‐H Connect by March 24 the Storyboard must be physically in the District Office received by Tuesday, March 28.
All Storyboards must be received by this date. They must be PHYSICALLY in the District Office by this date. Consider working with surrounding counties to make a plan to deliver them to Stephenville. They will most likely not withstand shipping.
Boards will be sent off for judging so it is imperative they’re received by this date. All boards will be on display during Fashion Show and must be picked up upon completion of Fashion Show.
Entry Fee: $10 per 4‐H member per event
Late Entries. Late entries will be permitted with an additional $20 late fee per 4‐H member 48 hours
after the regular contest deadline. Entries received after the 48‐hour deadline will require an additional $50 late fee per member.
Volunteer & Agent Information
Each county is expected to send: 1 volunteer to serve as a judge 2 volunteers to serve as group leaders County Extension Agents

Agent Assignments will be completed after entries are received so a schedule and appropriate assignments can be made. All County Extension Agents for FCS & 4‐H are expected to attend.
Each county is responsible to secure at least one (1) volunteer to serve as a Group Leader AND two (2) volunteers to serve as Judges

Room - Bring fun, exciting music and CD player/iPod - Prepare decorations AHEAD of the contest - Work with District Council Officers to MC and present
awards - Organize/line‐up the participants - Teach “workshops” of how to model for Fashion Show - Be sure to include D2D participants
