We’ve Got InfoSTAY INFORMED WITH . . .Family Motor Coaching magazine print and digital edition and a website version. This colorful magazine is packed with RV tips, member profiles, tech articles, travel features, DIY projects, product updates, and much more. Check the classified and display advertisements to learn what’s new in the RV marketplace.

Family Motor Coaching’s digital edition is available to readers about one week before the paper version lands in mailboxes — a great way to get a sneak peek. Members and subscribers can download a PDF copy of the magazine to read any time, even when no internet connection is available. Archived digital issues begin-ning with the January 2013 edition are available as well, and the website contains archived magazine content dating back to 2002. So, you can dig around in a virtual library of RV topics anytime, online.

RV education. FMCA enables members to participate in important RV-related education programs. The asso-ciation may contribute toward the expense of learning opportunities to reduce out-of-pocket costs to members.

The FMCA Academy hosts the “RV Basics” workshop just prior to FMCA international conventions. These hands-on sessions cover topics such as safe driving, RV weight and tire safety, fire and life safety, and more and are designed for new RV owners and others who would like a refresher. Expert, professional presenters conduct the courses, which allow participants to learn in a more focused environment and then participate in all of the fun and other educational seminars offered during the conventions.

Check online, too, at FMCA.com, for videos and other material to help you become better acquainted with the operation of your vehicle’s systems.

FMCA Forums. What better way to learn than from someone who’s been RVing for years? Join in a technical discussion online and gather tips and guidance from fellow members who’ve been there, done that. See community.fmca.com. Peruse and participate, if you wish, in discussion threads pertaining to RV technical and lifestyle topics, FMCA, travel, and more.

We’ve Got ConnectionsIt’s a big RV community out there, full of friends you have not yet met. Stay in touch with the FMCA national office and with fellow members! One of the most valuable benefits of membership in FMCA is the opportunity for long-lasting friendships. How else could you meet so many diverse people, all of whom share your interest in RVing?

CONNECT WITH . . .FMCA chapters. The association recognizes nearly 400 chapters across the United States and in Canada. Many of these groups encompass specific or general geographic regions. Meet fellow members in your hometown, state, or province. Other chapters are focused on ownership of a particular brand or model of RV. And still other chapters are based upon some common interest, such as music, amateur radio communication, sports, or coach conversions.

Check the full list of FMCA chapters at FMCA.com, where you can search for a chapter according to your location or interest. The list also is published in the January and August issues of the magazine; beginning on page 154 of the January issue. You’re also welcome to start a new chapter. FMCA’s Chapter Services staff at the national office can provide details.

We’ve Got Member Benefits: InsuranceFMCASSIST MEDICAL EMERGENCY AND TRAVEL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMFMCAssist Medical Emergency and Travel Assistance Program coverage is available to family, life, and associate members worldwide as long as you are more than 100 miles from home. Travel can be by recreation vehicle, car, plane, ship, or motorcycle. Full-time RVers are always considered to be 100 miles from home. Some exclusions and limitation amounts pertain to this benefit.

This coverage is provided by Seven Corners and is underwritten by Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s, London.

You are automatically covered by this program as an FMCA member as long as your dues remain current.

All of these benefits must be arranged by Seven Corners in order to be covered. If you have a medical emergency, dial 9-1-1; consult with a physician; then, call Seven Corners in advance if you need to use these services: (877) 202-4176. The collect (worldwide) number is (317) 582-2619.

1. EMERGENCY MEDICAL EVACUATION/REPATRIATIONThe plan will pay covered expenses incurred if any covered injury or illness that commences during the period of coverage results in the medically necessary emergency medical evacuation or repatriation (i.e., the member’s medical condition warrants immedi-ate transportation from the medical facility where he or she is located to the nearest medical facility that is capable of furnishing the required level and type of care for the applicable illness or injury as determined by the attending physician in consulta-tion with the Seven Corners medical director).

Maximum benefit amount: $500,000.

2. REPATRIATIONIf while traveling in his/her recreation vehicle an eligible person, who is not hospitalized, is released from the hospital or otherwise able to return home, is unable to continue the trip in the recreation vehicle, as a driver or passenger, due to an injury or illness that results in medically imposed restrictions as certified by the local

attending physician, the plan will pay covered expenses incurred up to the maximum stated in the Schedule of Benefits to return the eligible person, his/her spouse, and family members and dependents who are traveling with the eligible FMCA member to their permanent primary residence.

Alternatively, the eligible person can be returned to another location, chosen by the eligible person, pro-vided the cost does not exceed the cost of returning to the permanent primary residence.

All transportation arrangements must be by the most direct and economical route taking into con-sideration the eligible person’s medical condition. This benefit must be approved and arranged by Seven Corners.

Maximum benefit amount: $500,000.

3. EMERGENCY MEDICAL REUNIONWhen emergency medical evacuation or repatriation is ordered and the attending physician recommends that a family member travel with the member, Seven Corners will provide transportation for one individual of the member’s choice to be at their side while they are hospitalized and then accompany them during their return to their permanent primary residence. Costs incurred for transportation and lodging are covered by the insurance policy. Approval and coordination of this benefit must be provided by the Seven Corners medical director in consultation with the attending physician to be considered a covered expense.

Maximum benefit amount: $50,000.

4. RETURN OF MORTAL REMAINSThis sensitive and valuable service relieves the stress and confusion for families when transporting mortal remains across a country. Laws and regulations can differ, and Seven Corners will manage all logistics involved. The insurer will pay expenses incurred for preparation and return of a covered person’s body to his or her permanent primary residence if he or she dies. Approval and coordination of this benefit must be provided by Seven Corners to be considered a covered expense.

Maximum benefit amount: $50,000.

5. RETURN OF DEPENDENTSShould the member be traveling alone with dependent(s) and become hospitalized and unable to take care of the dependent(s) and the dependent(s) is left unattended, the plan will arrange and pay for a one-way economy fare to the one location stipulated by the dependent’s legal guardian (including the cost of an attendant/escort, if necessary to insure the safety and welfare of dependents under the age of 19). Approval and coordination of this benefit must be provided by Seven Corners to be considered a covered expense.

Maximum benefit amount: $50,000.

6. VEHICLE RETURN (LIMITED TO TRIPS IN NORTH AMERICA ONLY)Should the eligible person be traveling in his/her recreation vehicle, Seven Corners will arrange and pay to have a designated service return the recreation vehicle to the member’s permanent primary resi-dence provided:

1) The eligible person who is not hospitalized, is released from the hospital, or otherwise able to return home is unable to drive his/her rec-reation vehicle due to a medical condition as documented by the attending physician and no one in the eligible person’s traveling party is capable of driving, or proficient and competent to drive, the eligible person’s recreation vehicle;

OR 2) The eligible person who is not hospitalized, is

released from the hospital, or otherwise able to return home, is unable to continue the trip in the recreation vehicle, as a driver or passenger, due to an injury or illness that results in medi-cally imposed restrictions as certified by the local attending physician.

The recreation vehicle must be in good condition and capable of being safely driven on the highway in compliance with local laws.

The insurance plan will also cover the return of any automobile, trailer, or travel trailer that is legally hitched to the recreation vehicle at the time of the onset of the medical condition, to the destination of the pulling vehicle. The member will be responsible for any costs incurred during the return of the auto-mobile, trailer, or travel trailer to maintain the safe operation of the automobile, trailer, or travel trailer.

Alternatively, the member may choose to have their automobile, trailer, or travel trailer returned by a friend or family member. In such instance, and provided the return has been approved by Seven Corners and the automobile, trailer, or travel trailer is returned directly and expediently to the member’s permanent primary residence within the United States, Mexico, or Canada, Seven Corners will arrange and pay for transportation of that person to the location of the automobile, trailer, or travel trailer, and will also reimburse the member for gas and tolls during the return. In addition, the plan will provide a $100 per day benefit, up to a max of five (5) days, for incidental expenses while driving. In no event shall the total expenses of a recreation vehicle return exceed $5,000 for all expenses associated with the recreation vehicle return.

Alternatively, the RV can be returned to another location chosen by the member, provided the cost does not exceed the cost of returning the recreation vehicle to the permanent primary residence.

Seven Corners must arrange and approve the recreation vehicle return. If the member chooses to have a friend or family member perform the RV

Maximum benefit amount: $5,000.

This benefit is limited to cats or dogs. The pet must have current/up-to-date vaccinations as required by law. The member is required to pay for or supply a proper carrier for the pet.

Maximum benefit amount: $1,000.

8. PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION AND EYEGLASSES REPLACEMENTIf the member misplaces a medical prescription or damages eyeglasses or contact lenses while away from home, Seven Corners will arrange and pay to deliver the replacement prescription or glasses (lens-es included) to the member’s current location. FMCA INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL INSURANCEIf you travel outside your home country, your domestic insurance may not cover you if you become sick or

injured. If you are a U.S. citizen with Medicare, you should know that Medicare does not cover you outside the United States, except in very limited situations.

The optional FMCA International Travel Insurance plan covers you anywhere in the world, as long as you are traveling outside your home country (special rates apply for hazardous activities). By purchasing this insurance, you deal with an organization familiar with handling international claim payments and translation services. That way, you can concentrate on getting well.

Unexpected recurrence of a pre-existing condition is covered up to certain preset amounts for U.S. citizens traveling outside the United States. A pre-existing condition is defined as any medical condition, injury, illness, disease, mental illness, or mental nervous disorder that existed with reasonable medical certainty within the six months prior to the effective date of this insurance, regardless of whether the condition manifested, was symptomatic, known, diagnosed, treated, or disclosed.

The plan is underwritten by Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s, London. For a complete list of benefits, a free quote, and more information, contact Seven Corners at (877) 202-4176 and (317) 582-2619 or go to FMCA.com/benefits.

FMCA PET INSURANCEIf you have a pet, you know how expensive it can be to provide veterinary care for them, whether it is well care or a sick visit. And if your cat or dog does fall ill, it could be heartbreaking to have finances stand in the way of obtaining care for them.

Good news! FMCA members can now receive a 5 percent discount off the cost of pet insurance for a dog or a cat. The discount is brought to you by our partners at FMCA RV Insurance.

This insurance is great for travelers, because pets can visit any licensed veterinarian. It is provided by the nation’s oldest and largest pet insurance company, the one most often recommended by veterinarians. It offers three types of coverage:

Travel can be for business or pleasure at a distance of 100 miles or more from your legal residence. Seven Corners coordinates the following:

Your Best Address gives subscribers many personal services. They send email notifications of outgoing mail; use full tracking via the major carriers; and can shred junk mail for you. Personal support is always available via phone, email, live chat, and an Android app. Because Your Best Address is in South Dakota, company reps also can assist FMCA members in gaining the benefits of South Dakota residency.

FMCA members who sign up for a year get 14 months for the price of 12 — only $10.29 per month. You also can try out “Anytime Mail,” the company’s virtual mail option, for $9.99 per month — half off the normal $19.99 per month rate — if you sign up between now and October 31, 2018. This digital option allows you to see and manage your mail via computer and smartphone. Your Best Address also offers to handle FMCA members’ first vehicle registration at no cost.

Present your Passport America card to receive half off the regular rate on campsites in participating camp-grounds listed in the International Camping Directory.

Passport America prints a new directory each January. Updates or changes to the campground list are provided throughout the year in the RV America magazine and the monthly e-newsletter. Twenty-four-hour access to all campground information and updates is also available at PassportAmerica.com.

The directory also indicates each campground’s individual guidelines (reservation requirements, num-ber of nights that discounts are extended, etc.). These vary, because Passport America member RV parks are individually owned and operated. Access to Passport America campgrounds is on a space-available basis.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTSFMCA assists members who face local parking rights restrictions and other regulations affecting the use of their RVs through its Governmental and Legislative Affairs Committee. In addition, FMCA’s Parking Rights Manual & Guide summarizes significant parking rights cases. It can help members understand their legal rights

and the rights of legislative bodies that place restrictions on RV parking.

The Parking Rights Manual & Guide is available to members at FMCA.com, or from the Member Services Department.

FMCA MEMBERSHIP PLATES Every FMCA member receives a set of oval plates with their membership number on them. You are encouraged to display these in a prominent place on your RV to increase public awareness of FMCA. It’s a great way to find other members as you travel, meet new friends, and for you to show your pride in FMCA. An individual whose RV bears the FMCA membership plates is announcing that he or she has agreed to abide by the FMCA Code Of Ethics, which can be found on page 14.

KEY RETURN PROGRAMEver lose your RV keys? This should cause less stress if they are kept on a ring with a key tag from FMCA. These have the official FMCA logo and a key return provision on the reverse. If someone finds the keys and places them in the mail to the FMCA national office (no envelope required), FMCA will pay the postage for their return.

Members should report any loss to the FMCA national office and describe the keys so they can be identified if and when they are returned. If found, FMCA will mail them back to you at no charge.

For ordering information, contact the FMCA Member Services Department.
