Chettinad Academy of Research and Education is an equipped campus with a vast multitude of tal-ented doctors, nurses and students of all walks, in the constant pursuit of wisdom, working day and night to bring out the best in them. A normal day here is a buzz of activities and duties topped with a dash of enthusiasm and passion.

Fusion is a mul�faceted collage of diverse events and zes�ul compete-

�on that aim to both entertain and enlighten all those who partake in it.

The essence of the theme, Rio carnival, lies in turning our serene campus into a fun filled fiesta to live up to the spirit of the greatest party in the world through dance, music and stage performances that we hope you can be a part of.

▶ The team should arrive at the scheduled venue 1 hour

before the event .

▶ An official time keeper will be present for all events .

▶ Timing should be strictly followed , negative points will

be awarded for teams which exceed the scheduled

time.

▶ Judges decision will be final.

▶ Any props required should be informed before hand to

the organizing committee.

▶ The prizes will be distributed in the valedictory

ceremony.

▶ For online events entries : 2 copies as CD/DVD or pen

drive with title and college name submitted on or before

16th October 2019 via email.

Fashion is an art and you are the canvas. Express yourself through your clothes, makeup, accessories and shoes. Rule the ramp in this themed fashion show.

● Minimum no. of participants per team: 17 (including the

narrator/helper)

● Every team should have a showstopper

● Maximum time : 20 mins ( inclusive of prep time )

● All the garments should be based on the theme that can

be chosen by the participants with appropriate

accessories.

● Participants wearing short or revealing clothing should be

completely covered by full sleeves black/skin coloured

T-shirts and full length black/skin coloured tights,

underneath the fashion show outfits.

● Inappropriately dressed or vulgar display will be

disqualified with their entire team.

● Track should be submitted in a pen drive/USB when

the lots are picked.

● Lot will be picked 45 minutes prior to the event.

● Judging criteria: design of the outfit, dressing style,

attitude, originality of designs.

CLUSTER 1 : RUFFLES AND FEATHERS ( FASHION SHOW )

1 ) DESI GROOVES : INDIAN DANCE

The native dance extravaganza of folk and classical arts indigenous to India, this event is a chance to bring even the most westernised hearts back home.

• Maximum time : 8 to 10 mins + 5 mintues of preparation

time

• One team per college.

• Number of participants: 8-15

• Required props to be brought by the teams.

• Any properties like fire, water, holi colours are not

encouraged and its usage will lead to the disqualification

of the team.

• Two copies of the track song should be given in pen

drive/USB when the lots are picked.

Step up ! on to the dance floor to bring out your inner Moose as you dance to the greatest motifs of western music.

● Maximum time : 8 - 10 mins + 5 minutes preparation time

To dance alone is to dance with your spirit, but to dance with a partner is to create a symphony amongst you, your partner and the music, to form a synchronised triangle of move-ments.

● Maximum time : 5-7 mins + 3 min preparation time .

● Properties should be brought by the participants

themselves.

4 ) ADAPTUNES

It’s one thing to dance an excellently choreographed perfor-mance, a whole other thing to dance extempore to where the music takes you. This is the real challenge.

brought by the participants

● Judging criteria: spontaneity, stage utilization, skills and

costumes, audience response.

Bands are more than friends, they are families that practice, perform and perfect together. So pit your family against others in this prodi-gious battle of bands.

● Maximum time :10mins + 7 min prep time ● Minimum no. of participants: 1 vocalist 2 instruments

● Only the drums will be provided, others instruments should

be brought by the team itself.

● Only live music is allowed, no karaoke or recorded music is

allowed.

● Song can be of any genre or language.

● Judging criteria: vocal and instrumental skill, body language,

music coordination/synchronization, stage presence,

original composition may fetch extra points.

2 ) ACOUSTIC AND UNPLUGGED

Voices backed by instruments galore is the greatest height of

euphony.

• Minimum of one to two vocalists with 1 instrument .

• No instrument will be provided .

• Time limit 5-7 mins + 3 min prep time.• Only live music is allowed, no karaoke or recorded music is

allowed.

• Song can be of any genre or language.

• Judging criteria: vocal and instrumental skill, body language, music

1 ) TRAGICOMEDY: VARIETY SHOW

The stage play, the point of intersection of the visible and invisible worlds, the greatest of all the art forms, is the biggest platform to showcase your theatrical talents,the triple treat of singing, dancing and acting.

● Each team should have 5 to 12 participants .

● Time limit: 15 mins + 5 min of prep time.● Each performance must be a stage play, skit or mime based on a

theme picked by the participants themselves.

● Usage of props is allowed as long as they don’t damage the stage .

● Any properties like fire, water, holi colors are not encouraged and

its usage will lead to the disqualification of the team.

inside the campus. Any member/team found indulging in the same,

will be banned from all events and pro-shows.

○ Participants found littering the campus will be disqualified from the

events and proshows.

○ Any damage to the college property will be fined accordingly .
