Banquet InformationGuaranteeThe Umstead Hotel and Spa requires a guaranteenumber of persons attending your function(s) bynoon, three working days prior to the function day. Ifa guarantee is not provided, the agreed uponcontracted guest count will be used or the numberof guests attending, whichever is greater. The hotelwill prepare food for up to 5% over the guaranteedguest count. If the number of guests exceeds 5% ofthe guarantee, the hotel cannot guarantee toprovide identical services for the additional guestsbut will accommodate with an alternative meal. Anymeal provided for the additional guests will besubject to a $20.00 per person surcharge on themenu price.

Audio/Visual ServicesThe hotel offers a full line of state of the art audiovisual equipment and technical support at anadditional charge. In order to ensure a positive eventexperience, The Umstead Hotel and Spa highlyrecommends using only in-house equipment. Shouldthe event planner opt to bring in an outside audiovisual vendor, additional charges may apply.Charges for any damage done to the hotel by anoutside audio visual vendor will be charged to theclient’s master account.

ParkingThe hotel requires valet parking for any event with 100or more guests arriving by automobile. Your cateringrepresentative can provide you with the currentpricing, but a reasonable estimate is $3.50 perperson. Signs will be provided to direct guests to theconference entrance of the hotel. Valet parkingcharges will be posted to the client’s master account.
