The Need of the Child and FamilyLily (age 4) is a child with a severe hearing impairment.First time in child care environment and never been stay

with stranger.New country for the family and looking for services in

the area.Lily parents speaks some English, also mainly CantoneseParents need school to improve communication and may

need job.Need childcare for two other children age 6month baby

girl and 6years old boy. 6years boy need school All children need recreation centers and extra activities

What is hearing impairment?There are three types of hearing impairment that

occur in young children. Conductive hearing loss Sensorineural hearing impairment Mixed hearing impairment

Sever hearing impairment is hear any normal conversation and only a few sound of loud speech.

Severe hearing impairment requires a hearing aid to hear conversations.

The role of Early Childhood EducatorPositive relationship with child and parent.Arrange communication tool between parent

and staff.Uses professional specialist and get support

for staff and parent. Arrange the environment suitable for special

need child and others. Prepare modified activities and exercises

Offers Employment Assistance Services (OUTLET), language and skills training services, settlement services and services for women and seniors.

Some skill programs are minimal payment most services are free. Working hours: Monday – Thursday 8:30 am to 9:30 pm, Friday 8:30
