Alexander “Sandy” Halperin, DDS is a member of the 2012 National Early-Stage Advisory Group. Dr. Halperin was diagnosed with younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease in 2010 at the age of 60. Upon receiving his diagnosis, he was relieved to have validation for the cognitive problems that were affecting his professional and personal life. As a person living with dementia, Dr. Halperin has chosen to remain active in his quest for knowledge and not allow the disease to define him. Tireless in his networking and outreach efforts, Dr. Halperin is compelled to be a part of the discovery of treatments, preventions and cures.
