Special EventsPediatric Cardiology SeminarThe Pediatric Cardiology Seminar will be presented Thursday morning by pediatric cardiologists from Sibley Heart Center, Atlanta. The lectures will address aortic disease, lipids, syncope, and more.

Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics SeminarThis year the popular Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics seminar will focus on autism, providing fundamental and up-to-date guidance for primary care pediatricians. Dwain Blackston, MD is the Committee’s chair and will serve as moderator of the program.

Pediatric Nutrition SeminarOn Thursday afternoon this popular seminar, presented by the Chapter’s Committee on Nutrition, will feature presentations on food allergies, EOE, & more. Several new facets of this critical field will be examined and reviewed for the general pediatrician.

Pediatric Hospital Medicine ConferencePediatric hospitalists are one of the fastest growing pediatric subspecialties; and in Georgia nearly 60 pediatricians specialize in this area. The Chapter Committee on Pediatric Hospital Medicine will focus on current topics in this field with Judson Miller, MD as moderator. Please note that if you are attending only this event at Pediatrics on the Perimeter, a registration fee of $60 is required. See the Registration Form for more details.

Residents Pediatric JeopardyResidents from the programs at Mercer-Macon, Mercer-Savannah, and Morehouse will compete in a lively game of Pediatric Jeopardy, with Judson Miller, MD, serving as host. It’s always a hit at the conference.

Martin Michaels, MD Memorial Lecture on Child Advocacy:Marty Michaels, MD served as Georgia AAP president in 2008-2010, and was a child advocate extraordinaire. His passionate devotion to his pa-tients and doing all he could “beyond the practice walls” to improve their life set the bar in child advocacy at the Chapter. This memorial lecture on this powerful facet of pediatrics was established to honor his legacy, and remind us of the role of advocacy in the life of pediatricians. This lecture will be presented during the plenary on Friday morning by Anne Edwards, MD, of Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Edwards is the Immediate Past Chair of the AAP Committee on State Government Affairs, AAP District VI Vice Chair, and Co-Chair of the AAP Task Force on Pediatric Practice Change.

Awards LuncheonOur annual Awards Luncheon will be held Friday at 12:15 pm and will honor this year’s winners of the Georgia Chapter awards. The luncheon is free to all meeting registrants; and open to guests for $40 per person. If you’re bringing a guest(s), please add the Guest Fee to your total pay-ment.

Martin Michaels, MD Memorial Lecture on Child Advocacy:Marty Michaels, MD served as Georgia AAP president in 2008-2010, and was a child advocate extraordinaire. His passionate devotion to his pa-tients and doing all he could “beyond the practice walls” to improve their life set the bar in child advocacy at the Chapter. This memorial lecture on this powerful facet of pediatrics was established to honor his legacy, and remind us of the role of advocacy in the life of pediatricians. This lecture will be presented during the plenary on Friday morning by Anne Edwards, MD, of Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Edwards is the Immediate Past Chair of the AAP Committee on State Government Affairs, AAP District VI Vice Chair, and Co-Chair of the AAP Task Force on Pediatric Practice Change.
