Meet Your Quail Valley Elementary PTO Board2018-2019

We are so excited to work with you this school year! We thought we would put this together to tell you a little about our roles in PTO and to help you put faces to our names.

Laura Goodley, President

Chief Cheerleader. Supports all efforts and ideas and is the self-proclaimed voice of reason.

I have four amazing daughters: Mikayla (6th grade, QVMS); Lyric (5th); Maya (2nd); and Lauryn (kinder). This is my seventh year as a PTO board member at QVE. I was the fundraising chair for five (5) years and am excited for this to be my second year as President. My family has lived in Texas for nine (9) years and has been fortunate to call Quail Valley home for the past seven (7) years. I love QVE and the Quail Valley community. I am a fan of everything Texas (except the summers!), and while I will help you in any way just by being asked, it never hurts to use chocolate as an incentive! I truly believe QVE has the most amazing staff and community and I want to wish a warm welcome to all of you who are new this year and I look forward to getting to know you and having you as a part of our school family.

Dominque Hernandez, Vice President

Chief Everything Officer. She’s been around a long time and knows just about everything relating to PTO.

I am happy to have served on the Quail Valley Elementary PTO for 9 years & we have lived in QV for 12 years. I have 2 beautiful daughters, Jesenya, in 7th grade and Thayla in 4th grade.

Amber Sewell, Treasurer

Head Bean Counter. Her favorite word is no. No, we cannot afford that; no, you may not buy it; no, I will not reimburse for that.

I am excited to return for my fourth year serving on the QVE PTO board, where I have been Treasurer for the past three (3) years. I am married with two boys: Charles (5th) and William (3rd). I work full time as an accountant, and enjoy spending time with my family.

Amy Miller, VIPS Coordinator

VP of People. She will find help for you when you need it, and sometimes even when you don’t.

Hi! My name is Amy Miller, I am your 2018/2019 VIPS Coordinator. I have a son, Austin Miller in 4th grade. We have been at QVE since before Kindergarten. My husband and I have lived in Quail Valley since 2008 and have enjoyed the area. I have been a stay-at-home mom all of my son's school career thus far until this year. I will be going back to school myself to get my AAS from WCJC. I still plan to be around on campus helping out this year, it just may not be as much as in years past.


Raj Joseph, Publicity

Digital Sorcerer and Super Dad. He’s not just the guru behind our website and other technology but also the sole Dad on our PTO Board.

Raj Joseph and family lives in Missouri city for last 5 years. His children Joanna (3rd) and Naomi (1st) goes to QVE school. Lisa his last daughter will join QVE in 2020. He is a software developer and a lecturer. Currently he is teaching HCC. His wife Zeritu works at HCC part time as well while completing her Bachelor Degree. He loves music and outdoors.


Ruby Portugal, Public Relations

Ambassador of Buzz and Social Media Sorceress. If you want to be in the know, she’s the one to contact.

My husband Fernando & I have lived in QV for 8 years. I love living and working in the community. I was born and raised in Fort Bend County and have been teaching for 21 years. We are so happy that our daughter Olivia attends such an amazing school and I am proud to serve in the Public Relations Role this year. I get to shout from the rooftops about how AWESOME QVE is! Sarah MacInerney, Membership

Head Wrangler. A master at educating people about all things PTO and why they should join our group. Beware: She is so convincing you may join twice!

We have lived in Quail Valley for 9 years & have 3 young children.Our oldest, Gemma , is in 2nd grade here at QVE.This will be my 3rd year to be involved in the QVE PTO.My husband & I own a local real estate & mortgage company (Par3 Realty & CodeMark Financial) & care deeply about helping people with their dream of home ownership.I enjoy volunteering in the community, reading, cooking, & all things coffee!

Meghan Fiero

My name is Meghan Fiero and I live in Quail Valley with my two daughters and husband Jeff. Our oldest will be starting QVE as a kindergartener, and we couldn’t be happier. This school year, I will be volunteering as Co-Chair for the Fundraising position with Cindi Hardin. I look forward to meeting everyone and I’m excited to see what this school year brings. Rebecca Blevins, Secretary

Chief Organizer of Random Thoughts. No matter what might be said in a meeting, she makes it sound amazingly intelligent on paper.

My name is Rebecca Blevins. My husband, Ryan, is a Health Safety Environmental Specialist for Phillips 66 and we've been married 10 years this summer. We have three children -

Addilyn, 2. Brooklyn, 4 and Aiden, 7 who is a 2nd grader at QVE. I have my Master's in Education and have been teaching for 11 years with this being my 5th year in Texas and at QVE teaching 2nd grade. I am also the sponsor for our Eagles on the Run club.


Tiffany Pinnock, Parliamentarian





Judge, jury and executioner all in one. She didn’t write the rules but she makes sure we all adhere to them.

My husband and I love living in QV and are active within the community and schools. We have two amazing children. Our son is entering his second year in college and our daughter, Nole, is entering 4th grade at QVE. I am looking forward to returning to PTO at QVE for my third year, and my first year serving as Parliamentarian.


Jodi Porter, Student Activities & Special Events Coordinator

Ringleader of Genius Concepts. Attended one meeting, had a brilliant idea, wound up with a board position. What can we say—we have an eye for great talent.

Hi I’m Jodi Porter and I’m excited to serve on the PTO board this school year. My husband, Tyler, and I both teach in the district. We have two girls, Easton Scout which is in first grade at QVE and Perry Jean who is three.


Melissa Rowley, Spirit Wear

My name is Melissa Rowley. I have a son, Kenny Rowley in 4th grade and a daughter, Reese Rowley in 2nd grade. I grew up in Missouri City before moving away for college and a career, but eventually came back 10 years ago to raise my family with my husband in the Quail Valley neighborhood. My name is Italia and I am a mother of 2 girls and 1 boy. My son who’s now 18 came to QVE and now my little one does. I have an online little girls boutique. Director of Entertainment Fulfillment. Excited about all PTO-sponsored spirit night events and will make sure you are, as well.My name is Shelly Johnson. I have been teaching for 10 years now. This is my second year at QVE. I teach 3rd grade ELA. I have two beautiful children: Anthony-boy who is 12 and Aubrie-girl 6. I love reading and writing.

Expert on how to exploit “free” money programs. Loves all things Coke, BoxTop and Campbell’s Soup related, and will get you to love them, too!

I am originally from Austin and my husband, Craig, and I now fondly call Quail Valley/Missouri City home. We have one daughter, Addison, who will be in 2nd grade at QVE this year. This will be my second year on the PTO board and I am excited to return.


Jennifer Thompson, Field Day Coordinator

Chief Play Officer. In addition to helping out when and wherever needed, she ensures students, staff and parents have so much

fun at Field Day that they almost forget how hot it is outside!

I graduated from Mount CarmeI High School then went on to the Art Institute of Houston and received my Associates in Culinary Arts. I am happily married to my husband of 8 years and we are the parents of Alejandro Renner (1st grade). I am the Office Manager for my Fathers roofing company. My name is Priscilla Simpson and I have the honor of being this years 5th Grade Chair! My husband Mike and I have been married 11 years and we have a 10 yr old son who will be in 5th grade. I work for Rexel USA here in Missouri City as Sales Support and I also help organize all the company events. We are very excited to be a part of the QVE family and are looking forward to a great year!


Cecilia Jackson, SPED Chair

I am thrilled and HONORED to be the very first Sped. Chair for QVE PTO. My Son, Jonah was a former Sped. Student at QVE. While Jonah was attending QVE, my husband and

I formed a great bond with all of Jonah’s sped. Teachers and aids. I have been married to my wonderful husband Geoffrey for 18 years and he brought me to his childhood subdivision of Quail Valley to make this area our home for the past 15 years. We have a 6-year-old daughter, Selene going into 1st grade this school year. I’m a native Houstonian and work full time at our family driving school in Bellaire, Texas. I have a strong passion for traffic safety and promoting safe drivers for life. When I get some “Free Time” I love going on date night with my husband, Family Friday night movie & pizza, Traveling, making new friends, networking and attending conferences/seminars to continue my love of learning.
