Hooks outside the classroom, boxes for book bags- named pegs. Book bags rather than rucksacks

Homework ILU newsletter half termly to inform of the curriculum learning as well as home learning and homework

weekly

Home work will come home in named folders on a Friday

One piece of English work a week- focus on spelling and writing activities. Also Times Table mountain homework.

Home School Books – record contact between school and home in the diaries (if not appropriate in this form, then send an email)

Daily Reading recorded in diaries – in school by class teachers, LSA. Reading at home is essential to help children progress with reading. 10-15 minutes at home daily.

‘Times Table Mountain’- tested weekly, need to complete test correct twice before moving up the mountain

Home learning- a termly project to be completed at home with the family. A range of activities throughout the year including research, art and craft, design.

Library books- Children will have the opportunity to change their library books during reading sessions. Children should have one reading book and one library book.

Timetable Morning routine- Children to come into class promptly and

to use carousel of activities to get started. Parents to bring children into the classroom if they have a concern or would like to speak to the class teacher or LSA about an issue.

PE - kit/ earrings/ participation and notes

ICT - alongside ILU where possible

Library – in the mornings where possible, otherwise during ICT slot.

Name uniform please. This helps us to get your child’s belonging back to them quickly.

Expectations Arriving and leaving- Children to arrive promptly between 8.35 and 8.45.

Children will be brought to the playground at the end of the day at 3.15

Uniform- Green jumper or cardigan, polo shirt, summer dress, grey trousers, skirt etc. Black school shoes

Behaviour- Traffic light behaviour system, House Points- 10 house points= 1 token to spend in the token shop

Growing Learners-Collaboration, Resilience, Independence, Creativity, Active Participation

Reading – Guided Reading/ Books/ Diaries/ RWI phonics books. Children will be reading during Guided reading and Phonics lessons. In Guided Reading there is a focus on comprehension. Any reading helpers are much appreciated.
