MEET THE NEW CHILDREN AT NIÑOS Your response to #GivingTuesday made this possible! FEBRUARY 2020 You are an integral part of helping to transform children’s lives. Thank you for partnering with us to welcome children who need to know and feel the love of Christ every day. Your generosity and love was so great on Giving Tuesday. The goal this year was to fund nine kids for their first year at Niños de México. In late October, we welcomed in a family of four boys. They were removed from their family due to violence in the family. Then for a time they were placed with a Christian home in Mexico City, which limits the children’s stay until they are six years old (two of the boys are over six). When they approached Niños de México about accepting this family, it was an easy decision! Ulises (8), Hugo (6), Carlos (5), and Joshua (4) were welcomed into the Esperanza family and are doing well. Just a few weeks later in November, you made it possible for a family of two brothers to join Niños de México. Their family also had a history of violence, but Eric (11) and Tadeo (8) were able to celebrate Christmas with their new brothers in the Emanuel home. What an incredible experience for both of them! Please keep them in your prayers as everyone adjusts to their new family members. Eighteen of our kids, as well as some of the Niños de Mexico staff, recently went on a very special adventure. This trip was a reward for the kids with top grades. They traveled to a unique place in México that is the winter destination for migrating Monarch butterflies! This was an overnight camping adventure and the kids were able to experience a campfire before settling into their cabins for the night. The second day was amazing as thousands upon thousands of beautiful Monarchs fluttered all around. A butterfly goes through an amazing transformation from a slow-moving caterpillar to a beautiful creature that can soar through the air. What a perfect example God has given our kids (and us)! They can grow, blossom, and flourish as they experience life with a loving Father. WHERE THE BUTTERFLIES GO Students with Top Grades go on a Special Trip

FEBRUARY 2020

You are an integral part of helping to transform children’s lives.

Their family also had a history of violence, but Eric (11) and Tadeo (8) were able to celebrate Christmas with their new brothers in the Emanuel home. What an incredible experience for both of them! Please keep them in your prayers as everyone adjusts to their new family members.

A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS SEASON Celebrating the Birth of Jesus

LET THE ANGELS REJOICE! Recent Baptisms

We are thankful that our children hear the Word of God in their homes through devotionals with their houseparents and the Spiritual Development Department. Every child is also involved in a local church where they are being challenged to know Jesus and to grow in Him!Daniel from the Casa de Niños home made a decision to give his life to Jesus and was baptized in October at the church in Cholula Puebla! Also in October, ten people were baptized into Christ in a pond in the mountains around Contla, Puebla. In December, Mateo from the Genesis home was baptized into Christ at the Mision San Vicente Church! We are praising God for his decision. It is amazing to see how God is working in the hearts and minds of many people in the mountains of Puebla and in our homes. Please keep each one in your prayers as they begin to live their lives for Jesus!

Do you remember that wonderful feeling that comes with the Christmas season? Can you imagine feeling it for the first time if you had never been able to experience it before? Some of our kids celebrated Christmas for the first time this year! JESUS is the reason for the season! The kids were taught about the birth of our Savior and what that means for the whole world! Thank you for making Christmas a special time in the lives of children that God has given into our care.

PRAISES & PRAYER REQUESTS

Niños de México would not be the same without a wonderful woman named Crystal. We don’t like to fill up these newsletters with a lot of talk about everything that goes on to keep this organization running smoothly. Let’s just say

it’s a lot! For 25 years, a huge part of that has been taken care of by Crystal on a daily basis. Like you, she loves our children and cares deeply about saving as many as possible. She has seen transformation in hundreds of kids through the years, as they trade hopelessness for knowing the love of our Savior. Thank you Crystal for showing these children, and us, what it looks like to have the heart of a servant!

Niños de México is excited to announce a new way to visit our homes! Many people have let us know through the years that they’d like to visit, but they aren’t able to join a Short Term Mission team because of the physical tasks. So are you celebrating your retirement years? Congratulations! Are you wishing for an opportunity to demonstrate God’s love by encouraging and caring for children in need? Are you looking for an opportunity to explore a different culture by traversing ancient ruins and eating really amazing foods? Starting the fall of 2020, we will have a week-long trip (September 26 through October 3rd). The focus will be on visiting the children in our homes and seeing some incredible sites around Mexico City! If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, please contact Mick O’Hanahan for more details. [email protected] or (417) 499-3983
