MEET OUR NEW EXECUTIVE CHEF
Bethlehem Area
School District
Fall Issue 2017
Executive Chef Chad Licsko grew up in the Poconos and started cooking at 14 years old when his
parents nudged him to get a job. He did so at Bailey's 2 Cafe and the Hampton Court Inn in Mt.
Pocono. He then followed his passion for food at the Culinary Institute of America, graduating in
August of 1994 as the recipient of the Richard P. Keating award given to the student most likely
to succeed. Upon completion, Chef Licsko worked in various restaurants in PA for a year and
then moved to California working in both Lake Tahoe and San Francisco. In California, Chef
Licsko gained most of his fine dining experience at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel under Chef
Dante Boccuzzi. After two years in San Francisco, Chef Licsko returned east to New York City
where he worked at Gramercy Tavern under the tutelage of Chef Tom Colicchio. Chef Licsko
has been working with Sodexo in various roles for the last 17 years and is currently the Executive
Chef for the Bethlehem Area School District in Bethlehem, PA. Chef Licsko’s deep talent and
unique style has earned him awards from Sodexo and featured him in several industry
publications.
Morgan Laugier is a dietetic intern in the Cedar Crest College dietetic internship program who
will be doing her Food Service Management rotation in Bethlehem Area School District from
October until mid-December. She has lived in the Lehigh Valley for about 15 years and earned a
B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from Cedar Crest College as well. While her first name is Lena, she
actually goes by her middle name Morgan (and has her entire life). She loves nutrition (of
course!), and she is a major foodie. She loves to cook and try new recipes. She also enjoys the
outdoors, painting, and spending time with her dog Bailey, who is a rescued Beagle/Shepherd
mix. She has already learned so much as an intern and is looking forward to what else she will get
to experience while spending time with us at Bethlehem School District!
MEET THE INTERN
New Nitschmann Middle School
The new Nitschmann Middle School opened it’s doors this fall. Students can
now enjoy this brand new facility, including a beautiful new cafeteria that has an
open concept floor plan and even has outdoor seating for students to enjoy!
Donegan’s Cafeteria Transformation
Donegan Elementary School has a whole new look in the cafeteria. The cafeteria got a makeover that includes
some incredible murals painted onto the walls. This fun new look was created by Donegan’s Art Teacher,
Tiffany Anderson and other assistants. They took the plain brick look of the cafeteria and transformed it into a
paradise feel, right down to painting a “wood plank” look on the brick that surrounds the murals. The outcome is
breathtaking and is a wonderful gift for the students at Donegan Elemetary School to enjoy daily.
