    David Flotten, JD, SPHR David works with employers and Associated Financial Groups benefits consultants on a wide range of HR compliance and strategic issues, with a particular focus on healthcare reform and employee benefits strategic planning. David has been advising employers on human resources and benefits for over fifteen

    years. Prior to that, David spent three years practicing private law and two years working in the Minnesota court system. He regularly presents seminars on healthcare reform, employee benefits, leadership skills and coaching at Associated Financial Group as well as presenting at the College of Continuing Education at the University of Minnesota. David has a law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and is a member of the Society of Human Resources Managers (SHRM).

    Ragan E. Cheney, JD Ragan brings a wealth of knowledge in insurance defense litigation, risk avoidance and in recruiting and retaining key employees. Since joining the HR Solutions team in 2007, Ragan works regularly with public and private employers on HR compliance issues involving recruitment, leaves of absences,

    workplace accommodations, and unlawful harassment, as well as with employee benefit compliance issues involving ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA and workplace wellness. She is a welcomed guest at many executive round table meetings, SHRM conferences in Wisconsin and Minnesota, and is recognized as possessing superior skills in building relationships and motivating individuals to help establish valued cultures in both corporate and non-profit sectors. She is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Ragan graduated from West Virginia University College of Law, Order of Barristers, and received a B.S. in Psychology from West Virginia University.

    Rebecca Kellner, JD, SPHRRebecca advises employers on leave policies, accommodations, discrimination and early intervention with claims. While in private practice, she focused on defending workers compensation claims and handling Medicare-related issues arising from those claims. Previously, she interned with

    the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Rebecca received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where she majored in Human Resource Management. She graduated from Marquette University Law School.

    Bret McKitrick, JDBret has practiced law exclusively in employee benefits and human resources, representing both private and public sector employers of all sizes. Through training and one-on-one counseling, Bret works with HR professionals to ensure they have a clear understanding of the rules governing all aspects of human

    resources. He helps management teams develop strategies to streamline HR functions and provide employee benefits that are both attractive and cost-effective. He works with employers to maintain compliance of health and wellness benefit packages under state and federal guidelines, including rules of taxation and health care reform. Bret holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law.

    Janice Pintar, JD Janice has extensive litigation experience in the field of employment law and was a plaintiffs attorney for nearly thirteen years before joining Associated Financial Groups HR Consultants in 2015. She educates and advises Human Resources professionals and employers on a broad range of

    employment issues and best practices and costly litigation compliance topics including respectful workplace practices, unlawful harassment avoidance, wage and hour issues, medical leaves and accommodations, as well as federal and state discrimination and anti-retaliation issues. Janice was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Janice is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin and Illinois. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, magna cum laude, and her law degree from the University of Wisconsin, cum laude.

    Yvonne Shorts Lind, JD Yvonne partners with employers to develop practical solutions to challenging compliance and employee relations issues including healthcare reform compliance, leaves of absence under the FMLA and state law, disability and religious accommodations, responding to EEO complaints and

    wage and hour compliance. Over the past 15 years, she has represented public and private clients as an advisor, litigator and mediator on an array of employment law, employee benefits and HR matters. In addition to her counseling practice, Yvonne facilitates employee training, conducts neutral EEO investigations and mediates work place disputes. She is a repeat presenter at conferences such as the Minnesota Human Rights Day Conference and the Multicultural Forum on Workplace Diversity. Yvonne graduated from William Mitchell College of Law, cum laude, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Riverside.

    James Olney, JD James has extensive experience in the field of employment practices and was a plaintiffs attorney for almost a decade before coming to Associated Financial Group in 1999. He provides guidance on a daily basis to employers of all sizes regarding every imaginable issue related to having employees. In addition to

    working directly with employers, James writes articles on employment issues and regularly conducts in-depth training to both managers and HR professionals. He is a frequent speaker at trade shows and conferences, and is a popular instructor at the University of Minnesotas College of Continuing Education. He also serves as an advisor and consultant for Associated Financial Groups executive and risk management groups. James received his law degree from the University of Minnesota, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis.

    LouAnne Drenckhahn, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CEBS, MBALouAnne specialty is managing special projects designed to assist clients with their benefit-related compliance responsibilities. LouAnne monitors the legislative and legal environments and the state and federal mandates that impact our clients. She is the chairwoman of the

    Compliance Committee for Benefit Advisors Network (BAN), working closely with a variety of professionals, including attorneys from Proskauer Rose on various HR compliance issues. LouAnne is also a frequently sought-after panelist (MN State Bar Association, Business Journal, etc.) to lend her expertise on healthcare reform and the HR perspective. LouAnne has a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis and a Masters in Human Resources from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul.
