He is originally from Woodbridge, Connecticut, but has lived throughout the country, including four years in Philadelphia. Josh played lightweight football (now called sprint football) while at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a degree in Anthropology and Latin American Studies. One of his great memories from college was playing in the Anthracite Bowl at Pottsville Area High School in 1995. Unfortunately, Army beat Penn that day 6-0 in a driving rainstorm. After college, Josh moved to Boston and began teaching sixth grade social studies in a Spanish bilingual program in Framingham, MA. He also coached football and taught basic English at the 'Framingham Adult English as a Second Language Program.' After training as a vice principal for a few months, Josh decided to switch careers and move to southern California. He worked as an associate producer at KNSD in San Diego. A little more than a year later, he took a job as a reporter/photographer/editor at KREX in Grand Junction, Colorado. Most recently, he spent two years in Peoria, Illinois as a reporter at WHOI. Josh Brogadir joined Newswatch 16 in July, 2006.

Josh learned to speak Spanish while living in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. When he's not out chasing stories, he likes to run, mountain bike, and play disc golf.
