Pedagogy and Philosophy • To not “train” medical oncologist
• To have mainly a “generalist” approach to
the course content
• A combination of large group sessions, small case-based sessions, assigned reading, and clinical simulation to help students achieve course and session objectives
One university. Many futures.
Pedagogy and Philosophy
• To expose students to case-contextual multidisciplinary case conference simulations in real-time – Clinical expertise in surgery, pathology,
radiology radiation oncology, and medical oncology present at one time
• To emphasize the multidisciplinary “team-based” nature and approach to cancer

Assessment
• Mid-module exam: – 30% of mark – MCQs using MCC format
• Final-module exam: -70% of mark -evaluates entire module MCQs using MCC format
