The Incas were native South American people and they ruled a big empire on the west coast of South America.

An american explorer called Hiram Binghamrediscovered the Lost City of Machu Pichu in 1911.

Machu Pichu is in the Andes Mountains in Peru, near of Cuzco.

The Incas built the city on terraces and there were hundreds of stairs and paths connecting the terraces.

Incas built their houses from big pieces of stone called granite.
