Introducing Goodwill Social Work Centre:
Goodwill Social Work Centre is an Indian Non-governmental organisation registered as a Society/Charity under the Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act 27 of 1975, Government of Tamilnadu {India} and Foreign Contribution (Regulations) Act 1976, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Our Society's Registration number is: 112/1981 and our FCRA number is 075940124. Goodwill Social Work Centre is granted renewed registration under the foreign contribution (Regulation) Act 2010 by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Foreigners Division (FCRA Wing) Government of India with effect from 1st November 2016. Our renewal FCRA Registration number is: 075940124.It is duly registered under section 12-A {b} of the Income Tax Act 1961. Our mission is to profess and practice ‘Goodwill social work’ as a philosophy, a practice mode and an approach, which is preventative, rehabilitative and developmental in perspective and based on the principles of scientific humanism in line with the professional social work model.
Goodwill social work centre has been working in the areas of children's rights, children’s rights through artwork, Children’s environmental health rights, Intensive family preservation for dysfunctional families, non-formal employment training for youth, humanitarian aid, community technology services, environment education and action, social research, NGO capacity building, Global Links Initiative(UK)’s networking in Tamilnadu(India) and NGO consultancy. Causes supported by the Centre are wide ranging from social philanthropy to social development in the spirit of the organisation's aims of professionalism based on the principles of scientific humanism in line with the professional social work model in the management of issues concerning children, youth, women, dysfunctional families, NGOs and civil society groups. The Centre is highly professional in its approach and its methods are underpinned by a strong academic research ethos.
TME (UK)-GoodwillSWC (India) partnership project in India at a glance:
As part of our development initiative Goodwill Social Work has been organising capacity building programmes for children, youth, women, farmers and landless labours, tribal communities on the theme 'Use of Technology to bring knowledge and hope to the communities' through interactive audio-visual lessons on basic health and life skills subjects developed by Thare Machi Education (TME), a registered Charity in the United Kingdom. Both TME (UK) and GOODWILL (India) has been taking up partnership project in the state of Tamilnadu to organise health promotion programmes which include:
1. Distribution of DVDs in Tamil and English languages free of charge2.Organising interactive training sessions on the use of DVD lessons to disseminate health information for developing the life skills in various target groups(children, youth men and women) and organisations(Schools,NGOS,Corporates,Schools of social work, Governmental institutions etc)
3. Organising Institutional Capacity building and training programmes on the use of TME DVDs for the target audience.
Goodwill Social Work Centre has been involved in organising capacity building programmes on the use of interactive DVD lessons on various health related issues and distributing, free of charge, a set of 30 interactive DVDs on health related topics in Tamil and English languages to schools, colleges/Schools of Social work, Government run primary health
centres and nutrition units, NGOs, civil society organisations, Corporates etc Madurai, Tamilnadu, India. The Centre has set up its own DVD duplication lab in Madurai, authorised by its partnering organisation ‘Thare Machi Education’, United Kingdom for producing DVDs for distribution to target groups and organisations in various districts in the State of Tamilnadu, India. A unique feature of the project is to promote SDG goals namely GOAL 1: No Poverty. GOAL 2: Zero Hunger. GOAL 3: Good Health and Well-being. GOAL 4: Quality Education. GOAL 5: Gender Equality. GOAL 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
The project delivery process, project areas in Tamilnadu, target groups, total number of participants in Phase I and phase II ,distribution of TME DVD sets(interactive and non-interactive),district wise viewers and viewings, total viewings by direct involvement of our Centre, proposed project locations for phase III, future directions are presented in this booklet.
