My media product uses convections. For

example my front cover for my music

magazine has similar text to other

professional magazines. Also the colour of my

front cover is very useful in the way of

directing the attention straight to the image

because of the top the photo is wearing. The

image of the headphones also catches the

attention of the audience because of the

image which has been used. It would have

been a greater image if the person in the

image was wearing the which would make it

more musical. The quality of the image follows

convections which is good if you want to

attract lots of people to your music magazine.

In most music magazines like MNE they make

the barcode standout from the background or

it just sits there on the page but I have made

it fade into the background which goes

against convections but in a good way.

As you can see on this NME music magazine

on the right has lots of detail which isn’t really

a convection because in other NME music

magazines they don’t always use an excessive

amount of detail just enough to get the point

across.

This is an example of the barcode on a NME standing out.

Even though my front cover for my music magazine doesn’t completely follow convections for example the title is simple and easy to read however it could be a lot better like make it more dance kind of mood. The fuzziness is good which shows the genre of the magazine but could be improved by making the colours more independent, another words more colour to express the genre instead of one simple colour even though it doesn’t need to. The professional music magazine on the right shows convections for example the logo which is “NME”.

This is a screen shot I have of the music music magazine which shows the convection of their logo “NME”.

Below is a screenshot of a convection that NME music magazine has followed which is a strap line.

Forms and ConventionsThe forms I have used are the type of text which I have

used. This follows conventions because of the style of writing I have used.

This is an example screenshot of my cover line I have used on my front cover of my music magazine.

This is an example screenshot of the NME music magazine of one of the cover lines

Both examples of screenshots above are similar except the one I designed is bit more musically in one way because of the letters curves. This doesn’t follow conventions on this exact one but it does have similar text type. But also same similar size of text as you can see on both music magazines. The NME has a more distinctive title “The wombats” however the title of my own also is distinctive and is the biggest thing on the page which is clear. This is a screenshot of the barcode, price and date which all follow conventions except from the date which meant to be at the top of the page.

This is a screenshot of the barcode which you would normally see at the bottom right of the page.

This is the screenshot I have taken of the masthead which is the biggest thing on the page and tells you what it is about.

The title I have made is big and bold and explains what the magazine is about. The colours I have chosen for the title is red with an orange background which really achieves helps the title.

The colours I have used are very simple but affective in making the picture clear as well as the title.

I have made my images more graphical by using the Adjustment tool on Photoshop which makes the image look more dance like than it already was.

There have been no graphics added to this Image mainly because it looks fine as it is but also doesn’t need any additional colours.

I have not put the headphones from my music magazine onto the actual person because even though it may look more professional I wanted the headphone to be shown separately.
