How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages? Throughout the media project it was vital that we planned the use of technology how understand it’s important within the production of our media product. The first essential piece of equipment we needed to use was a camera with the ability to film. There were cameras available to use at school in the media department however, our group was able to use one of the member’s camera which was a Canon 4d. The quality of this would be significantly higher than those available through the media department. We made sure that before using the camera that we were familiar with how to use all the features and practiced a range of shots that would appear in our media product. To go along side the camera we had to ensure that on the filming days the camera had full battery. Likewise, just in case we brought a spare battery. The camera and the battery were the main technologies which ensured the final product was to a high standard. The method of our saving was important meaning we had both a USB and SD card for the camera. Once we had filmed shots that were ready for editing, we made sure to copy these onto the USB so that they are safer. Throughout the production stages of the project we used advanced editing software, Adobe Premiere Pro. The software enabled us to edit and cut together the final product and made sure that the quality of the video remained high throughout all the shots. The final media technology that I used during the final stages of the product was the video sharing site Vimeo. We chose to upload our work onto this site instead of Youtube as Vimeo allows a better quality video to be uploaded and no features would be lost.
