ARTIST NAME We have chosen our band name to be Prince Kwame.

• We have chosen to go with this name, as in the video our main artist, (Kwame) is a sweet boy. He’s romantic and he’s in touch with his feelings. He’s very handsome which is the reason why all the girls love him. But in the music video he can’t get the girl at first which makes him even more in touch with his feelings and he can’t help but fall for her more. We’ll talk more about this later on in the pitch.

• We’ve also named the female Artist Lady Lush. From that name, you can make inferences that she’s confident about her appearance. She’s in charge of herself and that she’s very feminine, we can make implications from the word ‘lush’. We want our female artist to be seen as an independent woman that knows she’s in charge.

WHAT SONG ARE YOU GOING TO USE & WHY USE IT?

The song that me and my group has chosen in ‘Romantic’ by Korede Bello and Tiwa Savage. The song follow the conventions of an Afro Beats Genre, however, the genre is more or less modernised. The song sends out a simple message and narrative. The song speaks about appreciating one’s partner and the love they share. In the aspects of Korede, he has spotted a girl he finds attractive. He wants to take her out, spoil her, make her feel special. There’s a clear narrative told from the lyrics (music video relates to the lyrics) for example the song begins with “From the first time that I set my eyes on you…” and mentions lyrics such as “Girl you're so warm and warm & sweet” and “That my baby so romantic”.

The reasons why we decided to use this song in aspects of creating out music video is that there’s a clear narrative that we can recreate. There’s clear lyrics and there’s no repletion throughout the whole song other than the chorus so it wont be boring. This will also make it easier for our actors to lip sync. The actual beat and the pace of the song is nothing extra, which means it wont really over power our production.

The song follows simple conventions of Afro Beats and along with mellow tune. Other reasons of picking this song is due to our groups personal relations with the actual genre and song. Not only our we educated when it comes to the genre but, most of us in the group have African descents. Therefore, We can acknowledge and conform to the expectations of the music video and the conventions we have to meet

They will also be streaming their music (spotify, souncloud and iTunes). We decide to have them on streaming because streaming is now very popular in this generation making it easier for them to gain a online audience (streaming raised to 10.2%).

They will also have a YouTube channel allowing them to gain a world wide audience as YouTube is used by everyone.

Our actors are going to be wearing promotional outfits like Nike and Adidas in order for them to be remembered by their audience (iconology). Not only will this be promoting our artist but it will also be promoting the company, which enables them to give us merchandise (free), promoting our company more.

CHARACTERS

We will be using Trico as our main male role and Abba as our main female role. We are also using Blessing (a former bridge student) as our second female role. We chose these individuals because we believe that they suit the role we want them to play and it also easy to get access to them as they go to the same school as us.

We will also be using a few random to create more of a crowd and to also make it more realistic when Trico is approaching Abba.

The dancers we are using is Yassin, Kenny, Harriet and Eniola we are using them because they familiar to the background of our genre, they also dance our genre well.

PEFORMANCE TO THE CAMERA

As our group, we looked at several videos to get a clear image of what’s expected when it comes to performance is videos that are performing about romance.

We’re not new to how Trey Songz performs in his music videos, when he’s basically directing the song to the girl in the music video; just like in the video we’re planning to produce.

As you can see in the pictures, he tends to use a lot of had gestures, to signify his love and compassion for whoever the song is directed to. We want moments of where the artist is seen performing the song directly.

I believe this would make our song more interesting by seeing the actual artist.

CHOREOGRAPHY

As one of the main concepts of creating this videoIs to basically recreate, so that intentionally means ‘not toCopy’ in this case, we decided to include choreographyFor reasons such as:• There’s no choreography in the initial video; this

can reflect our creativity• Conforming to the genre as the conventions

include some sort of traditional choreography• It can appeal and be exciting to most audiences,

just not our target audience

STYLE We are going to have our dancers wearing dashiki, as it’s the traditional African cloths and it links to the genre were doing which is afro beats. The dashiki is a colourful garment which covers the top half of the body , this garment can be worn by men and women; widely worn in west Africa. We want our dancers represent the African culture with this look this will allow them to embrace the African culture drawing African people towards our genre and music video. The dashikis is a symbols of Africa for the black history month, our video would have a representation of black history month and the struggle black people went through. Our music video would have a representation of different ethnicity coming together and having social integration. Social integration is to achieve participate in dialogue to achieve and maintain peaceful and social relationship, so the dashiki can be used as example because many people wear and people come together to embrace there culture

STYLE The actors are going to have promotional clothing such as Adidas and Nike which is going to be promoting company's brand which would get our videos well known as were using big brands Adidas and Nike to promote there company, this would helps the brand and us to get more money.

GENRE WE ARE GOING TO FOLLOW

The genre that we are going to follow is afro beats. This is because we feel like we have a background with this genre as some of us are from the African descent. Every member of the group enjoys listening to afro beats. We also picked this genre, because we feel as if we are educated in it which makes it easier to produce and direct. We think that afro beats would be a good choice as it’s a song that has upbeat emotions as well as bright and colourful convections which attracts is audience. Afro beats is a mix of genres. It includes jazz, funk, Ghanaian/Nigerian highlife, psychedelic rock and traditional West African chants and rhythms.

GENRE WE ARE GOING TO FOLLOW• Fela Kuti was the first to publish a afro beats song in

Nigeria. He is known as the creator of afro beats. Afro beats was invented in Accra, Ghana in 1968. It was originated from Fuji. These are heavy Nigerian drumbeats and highlife.

• Examples of the famous afro beats singers are Fuse ODG, Tiwa Savage, P Square and Davido.

P Square and Davido, in most of their videos contain choreographed dance routine which links to ours as we will also include choreographed dance routines.

Tiwa Savage and Fuse ODG include narratives in their music videos. They are mostly romantic narratives which is why we’ve chosen to do a romantic narrative too. Also we think the audience will be able to relate to it.
