description

A brochure & electronic press kit (EPK) I created from scratch for one of my music/band publicity clients. These are used to send out to the media ahead of a band's concert to help encourage the media to preview the show, thereby boosting attendance and pay for the musicians performing.

QuadkilleR is like a combat correspondent pinned in a war between violins and synthesizers. Ant Thomaz’s lyrical genius flows over Adam Lansky’s dense sound-scapes of organic guitar and keyboards, smashed to bits by distorted drums. Hip-Hop meets electronic-pop meets classical hardcore. There is no one like us.

Ant Thomaz is a poet and rapper originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His lyrics are often inspired by issues of social injustice, the oppressive nature of capitalism, and compas-sion for mankind. With natural talent as a wordsmith, grow-ing up and clawing out of his poverty-stricken neighborhood has provided him with the life experience and perspective necessary to tell stories anyone can enjoy. He has an ag-gressive lyrical style that paints a vivid picture of his past and confronts listeners with questions about their own past, present, and future.

Adam Lansky is a composer, guitarist, keyboardist, vocalist and audio engineer from South Florida. After graduating from audio tech school in Phoenix and working in the production scene in Los Angeles and San Diego, Lansky moved to Little

Rock in search of a quieter realm to develop his talents. He provides a densely textured dynamic bed of driving sound with influences as broad as Tchaikovsky, U2, Jay-Z, and Nine Inch Nails. His music tends to be unpredictable in nature and emotionally moving even before the contribution of Thomaz’s lyrics.

Together Thomaz and Lansky form a unique musical experience that is as abstract as it is organized. They are undoubtedly the future of Hip-Hop and powerfully symbolize artistic expression — with something bold to say — at its best.

ACCOLADES AND LIVE SHOW EXPERIENCE & INFORMATION

Recently, QuadkilleR was featured in Arkansas Rockstar Magazine (see clips on following pages) and early in 2012 was recognized for their talents when they were named a Semifinalist in the statewide Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase. Their power-packed performances — which have ranged in venues from nursing homes and VA centers (where they were a big hit) to weddings and private events to the official OCCUPY LITTLE ROCK site and Revolution Music Room, Little Rock’s largest live music venue — never fail to make a great impression on fans of all types of live music.

Their hourlong set is a perfect combination with most any type of music or set-ting, as QuadkilleR blends all genres in the musical backdrop for their Hip-Hop themes.

Showcase semi-finalists announced

After much discussion and scrutinizing scores of entries, we've come up with 20 semi-finalists who will face

off in the 2012 Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase. There were so many quality bands entering the showcase last year that the lineup

was expanded from 16 semifinalists to 20, and it was damn hard to get it down to just 20 this year.

Here's a reminder of how the showcase works: Each night, four semifinalists will play 30-minute sets of original material for five judges, who

will assess each act based on musicianship, originality, songwriting quality and showmanship. There will also be points awarded from the

audience, so bands, make sure to bring lots of your friends with you.

The competition starts Thursday, Jan. 26, and continues every Thursday through Feb. 16, with the last semifinal on Friday, Feb. 24. The

semifinals are all at Stickyz and the final show is Friday, March 2, at Revolution.

In the coming weeks, we'll introduce you to the judges and the bands that will be performing, and we'll provide details on the prize package for

the winner, so keep an eye on the Arkansas Times and Rock Candy.
