For 2013, the Lexus GS 350 has been re-designed and the GS 460 has been discontinued. The 2GR-FSE engine carries over from the previous model with improvements to the intake and exhaust to improve power performance without compromising fuel economy or emissions performance. This engine has revised front mounts to improve comfort and performance. The mounts are different for RWD and AWD applications.

The GS 350 uses the same transmissions as the previous model – the A760E (RWD) and A760H (AWD). These are both 6-speed multi-mode automatic transmissions. Shift paddle switches are standard, and transmission shift logic has been changed to improve the sporty character of the vehicle. The transmissions use WS transmission fluid, and all transmission service procedures are the same as for the previous GS 350.

The AWD GS 350 uses the UF1AE transfer to split power between the front and wheels. This component carries over from the previous model. The power split will range between 30%front/70%rear (normal conditions), up to 50%front/50%rear under poor traction conditions. This silent chain-drive unit has a planetary gear and a limited slip center differential to control torque split. A linear control solenoid controls lock-up, with line pressure that is provided by the transmission pump. This means that the transfer and the A760H transmission share the same WS fluid. There is no recommended replacement interval for the fluid in the transfer assembly.
