Mise en scene Planning

CostumeThe costume included in my video will mostly be everyday clothing as the memories included will mostly be everyday childhood memories. Therefore, casual clothing will allow the audience to relate and will create a much more natural representation.

I will most probably dress one of my characters in a dress similar to this as it is very youthful and the white signifies the representation of childhood innocence and purity.

PropsDue to the genre of my song and the lack of manufactured imagery I will probably stay away from using lots of props and foucs on the more natural side. However, I may include a small teddy bear of cuddly toy as this is widely recognised as a representation of childhood and will again signify the innocence and care free side of the characters in my video

SettingFor my music video I plan to use very natural settings such as forests and beaches. This will fit with the genre, artist and song. I would like my settings to be reasonably secluded as I believe this will signify a much more personal atmosphere. I would like my setting to be very aesthetically pleasing as it will link with the beautiful and calming sound of the song. I may also try and include a play area to relate to childhood and happiness however this is manufactured imagery. Therefore, I may try to find one slightly more natural (wooden instead of metal)

Characters and Lighting

My video will mostly involve young characters to mirror the care free and happy atmosphere in the song. These characters will also fit with my idea to base my video on childhood memories. However, I will also go against stereotypes with my characters towards the end of the song by representing older people as care free much like younger people. Lighting will be very bright as this signifies the happy representation that must be present throughout for my video to be successful. The lighting will also be almost completely natural (from the sun) to again link to the natural elements of my idea.
