HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE COMBINATION OF YOUR MAIN PRODUCT AND ANCILLARY TEXTS?

MY AUDIENCE?

When asking my audience whether they believed my media products worked well together I enjoyed mostly positive feedback, stating that in fact they do work very well with each other. Below is a sample of Feedback I received form my media class:

“The overall look is similar, with lots of urban scenery” Dean Houghton

“I think they all work really well together and they are all

what you’d expect to see from an indie band.” Mathew Pawluk

“The digipack and music video work really well together,

however the magazine advertisement is slightly less fitting.” Lauren Head

MUSIC VIDEOMy Music Video creates a very urban image for the band. This is through the use of scenery such as houses, garages and alleyways.I have also put emphasis on the clothing, including brands such as Fred Perry and Adidas,I have placed much

emphasis on the Band members, and they appear throughout the vast majority of my Music Video, so the Audience relate to the Artist.

DIGIPACKThe Digipack is set out like graffiti on a wall, which continues to build the urban image for the band.Again there is a strong focus on the band members as they are all included in the digipack.Unfortunately because of filming restrictions I couldn’t film with three members, but needed three on the digipack, which happened to cause a slight continuity error however I challenged the conventions of a music video and did not feature all band members.I have also made a rebellious image for the band from the lead singer swearing at the camera.

MUSIC MAGAZINE ADVERTISEMENT

Once again this image upholds the common theme of an urban image for the band.

It doesn’t however feature the band members which is not a huge problem, however it does relate to the other two products slightly less.

COMBINATION

When all of my media products are viewed together I believe there lies a strong correlation between all of them as they build a strong Urban feel due to the scenery and the majority of the images found give the audience a means to relate to the band, and learn that they are rebellious.
