Explaining Mechanical Energy
A dart gun is an example of mechanical energy. When a dart gun is loaded and the springs are compressed, it possesses mechanical energy.
Mechanical energy is the energy of work. Back in the olden days, inventors used steam to power turbines, or used water to turn wheels in a river. These are examples of mechanical energy
Mechanical Energy is energy stored in objects by tension.

Examples
Compressed springs and stretched rubber bands are examples of stored mechanical energy.
Mechanical energy is used to create the water pressure that makes water come out of the faucet. It is also found in ceiling fans that circulate the air.
