Project Overview:
• A paddle-shift control system designed to hypothetically work with a future UVic Formula SAE car.
• Modeled Project Components: – Currently used FSAE Steering Wheel – Primary System Housing – Paddle Shifters and Brackets (2 Types) – Internal Mechanisms (Pin, springs, sensors, etc…)
• Project modeling done in SolidWorks, FEA analysis done in COMSOL MultiPhysics 4, rendering done in Keyshot 2.1

Issues Encountered:
• Initial design proved sub-optimal. Evaluation of mass properties in SolidWorks revealed a very heavy part and initiated a clean sheet redesign.
• Minor problems importing models to KeyShot for rendering (required us to use the STEP file format).
