MEATPRO CARCASS MANAGEMENT MeatPro provides a comprehensive approach to slaughter floor systems, from the initial arrival of the stock to the boning of carcases. MeatPro’s procurement functions allows the arrival process to be optimally planned in advance, and the ease of data entry from the yards and slaughter floors provides the Meat Plant w i t h t h e i n f o r m a t i o n f o r prompt decision making abilities. Farmer assurance processes are incorporated in the arrivals process to ensure all information is available to receiving staff.

KEY BENEFITS

Easy to track – MeatPro allows the Meat Plant to easily track and manage carcasses through to the chillers with a high degree of detail including defects, grade and the mob’s wool grade data.

Efficient – MeatPro has been designed with a large number of automatic processes, integration and exception processing, aimed at providing a management tool that minimises input requirements.

Competitive – Market demand and sales orders are combined with chiller assessment details and standard cut plans to allow the creation of a daily production plan.

MeatPro provides an integrated slaughter floor management system, resulting in the maximum possible resource efficiency for the Meat Plant. The procurement planning features of MeatPro allow the daily stock receiving process to be optimised, as pen allocation and approximate arrival plans can be calculated from the procurement booking process. Once the stock has arrived, MeatPro is updated from the yard with further details pertaining to the arrival and payment functions of the plant, for example the wool pull grading of stock. The information gathered here is used as part of a stock auditing system so that the Meat Plant can account for all stock from arrival through to the boning process. A kill agenda can be generated flexibly, to optimise processes such as chain speed, packaging changeover, and whether the stock is required for hot boning. The MeatPro stock management function allows flexibility of handling post mortem condemned and stock defects whereby various levels of inventory and cost price adjustments can be used to accurately update both the buyer created purchase orders and the inventory totals with real time values. Each carcass tag is tracked through the kill process, allowing chiller management of each carcass to be tracked. MeatPro provides all information to generate an optimal production plan based on sales orders, current grade based stock levels and standard cut plans. This function allows the Meat Plant to reduce inventory costs by managing slow moving carcasses more thoroughly and by providing real time views of stock levels so that sales contracts can be optimised.

Detailed – MeatPro provides the Meat Plant with a high level of detail pertaining to the stock availability, performance, actual and forecast demand enabling the Meat Plant to optimise their own preferences, and accept future sales orders based on past carcass data.

KEY FEATURES

Yardman Input: The procurement booking entry is updated by the yardmen when the stock is received. At this stage, the actual date, quantity and pen details are recorded. This function combined with the finalisation function provides the Meat Plant with a checking system to ensure all stock which enter the Plant are accounted for.

Kill Agenda: The kill agenda can be generated from

the bookings made and the yard management decisions. Unbooked animals can be added via the yardman input. This is then used to sequence the kill agenda prior to automatically transferring it to the slaughter floor system.

Condemned and Defects: Carcasses condemned

through the process can be handled so that the slaughter balancing process is not impacted .Users can control the payment function to allow the animal to be priced and any deductions to be made according to the cause of condemnation. If applicable the carcass can then be removed from the cut plan. Should defects such as bruising be discovered, MeatPro allows the Meat Plant to downgrade the inventory valuation.

Finalisation: Once the mob has been processed and

the scale weight records have been updated with the actual weight, grade and quality, the mob is balanced to ensure that the arrival details match the scale records. If balanced, the mob is finalised which then allows the procurement payment advice to the farmer to be generated. The service order function can be used if the stock has been processed on the behalf of another.

Cut Plan: MeatPro Cut Plan processing allows the

combination of demand, stock availability and predefined cut plans to be incorporated to produce a daily expected production plan with expected margin calculations

Carcass Identification: The stock is identified

initially via RFID/ear tagging, carcass identification and barcoded tickets once it has been slaughtered. This allows each individual carcass to be tracked through to boning and provides the basis for carcass chiller tracking down to carcass piece (e.g. quarter

Bobby Calf Processing: Bobby calves are able to be assigned associate vendors, such as the farm’s sharemilker, farm owner or farm manager so that additional people may receive a percentage of the payment. The calf is tracked via the ear tag, and the buyer created invoices will be automatically produced by the payment function of MeatPro

Service Bone: MeatPro allows the Meat Plant to efficiently process this type of contract by automatically producing invoices based on a specified kilogram or fixed charged component of the service, updated from the on floor weigh scale system.

RECEIVING SCREENSHOTS Once the mob has arrived in the yard, confirmation of the bookings, along with the quantity and where the animals will be placed is stored here.

The arrival card allows the yard to quickly identify and record all relevant detail pertaining to the stock sent by each individual farmer. This data is then collated by MeatPro to form the Kill Agenda.
