Service Styles

Pick Up Pick Up’s are common for less formal events such as birthday parties, cocktail parties and smaller events. They are perfect for events under 50 guests. You would pick up the food fully cooked in aluminum trays. It comes with serving utensils, plates, napkins, cutlery, sauces, and marketing materials such as flyers and business cards. Cambro units to keep the food hot during transportation can also be rented. With the aluminum trays everything can be reheated in the oven if you decide to post pone the serving time for any reason. There is no service charge on the food. Drop Off Drop Off’s are very similar to the Pick Up option with the only difference being that the food is dropped off at the event location rather than picked up at our restaurant. We have a delivery charge of $0.75 per KM with a minimum charge of 40 KM. Your only responsibility would be to provide a table or counter space for the food to be set out on once we arrive. The driver will take care of set up and make sure your event gets started without any issues.

Cocktail Reception & Passed Appetizers A cocktail reception is often designed to allow guests to mix and mingle while enjoying sample sized treats that are circulated around the room and brought to their fingertips.

Buffet Dinner Want to spoil your guests with the freedom of choosing what and how much they want to eat? Buffet Dinners allow your guests to customize their meal by sampling a wider variety of the food you’ve provided. They’ll get a chance to mingle while doing so, and our team will take care of plating their food as they proceed through the menu options.

Plated Dinner There is nothing quite like an well-executed dinner service. Meant to reflect the type of dinner service you’d receive in a 5-star restaurant, a sit down dinner allows for intimate contact between guests while sharing a delicious food experience. Our team will wine and dine your guests while they kick up their feet and enjoy their meals.

Family Style Dinner Service Our family style dinner service allows your guests to enjoy their meal just as they would at the family dinner table. Large platters and bowls are served to each table for guests to help themselves to their meal and transfer it onto their own plates. This enables a more relaxed dining atmosphere and engages your guests with a communal dining experience. Our team will serve, remove and replenish platters and bowls as needed, and remove plates and cutlery as your guest’s finish.

Additional Services Travel

We have a travel fee of $0.75 per kilometre. Kilometres are tracked for both to and from the event. There is a minimum travel charge of 40 kilometres.

Staff

Our catering staff is billed at $25.00 an hour including to and from the event. The staff consists of servers, cooks, bartenders, table runners, bar backs and general event staff. They are fully smart serve certified and have their food handlers course. Bilingual and Francophone staff can be requested as well.

Rentals

Along with having our own stock of rentals, we work very close with some of the top rental companies in Ottawa to insure you have everything you need for your big day. A rental list can be provided upon request. We use our preferred rental options for many reasons, but here are the top four. The first reason is with our prices, picking up and clearing of the items on the table are included. If our staff has to wait in order to pick up the rental items for an extra half hour at every event, it can add up over time. The second reason is familiarity. In the past when we’ve let couples rent their own items unfortunately mistakes have been made. For example, providing us with dessert forks for dinner and so on. With our rental items we are very familiar and know exactly what we need and what works with our menu. The third reason is liability, if your rental company ends up saying items were broken or damaged, it falls on us because we are the ones using all of the rentals. The final reason is service. We have a great relationship with our rental companies and the service is unmatched. With other companies we would just be another contract but with our rental companies we are in constant contact with the owners every week and have an established relationship. Bar Services

Bartender Service: $25.00/hour with a minimum of 5 hours. Suggested Staff: 0-50 Guests = 1 Bartender, 51-150 = 2 Bartenders, 151+ = 3/4 Bartenders. Water, Lemonade, Iced Tea, Coffee, Tea, Assorted Pop, Alcoholic Beverages, Limes, Lemons, Ice, Glassware are available upon request.

Frequently Asked Questions Where do I start? You can start by checking out our catering menu. The next step is to email or call us to explain a bit about your event. From there we would provide you with an estimate. Having a budget for the food, rentals, and bar also helps us in putting together a package tailored to your needs. How far in advance should I book? We typically book up to 8-10 months in advance for Saturdays between May & October. We get multiple quote requests daily, so we can’t guarantee a date until it is booked. Once an estimate is sent over we will let you know if another client is interested in that date and will give you a 48-hour grace period to decide if you would like to go ahead or not. We can also accommodate last minute events. How can I reserve my event date? Your date is confirmed with a 30% deposit of the subtotal along with a signed copy of our catering contract. The minimum deposit for a catering event is $500.00. The second deposit will be a 50% deposit 30 days prior to the event. Do you have a minimum? Yes, to use our catering menu we have a 20-person minimum. All events under 20 people would use our restaurant menu. To have our staff on site on a Saturday there is a $3000.00 minimum prior to the service fee and taxes. There is no minimum for drop offs and pick-ups, as well as events any other day of the week. There is a minimum of a $1000.00 bar tab when we provide the alcohol There is no kitchen on site at my venue, can you still cater? Yes, we have mobile kitchens that come on site for each event that are equipped with water and power. It is always convenient to have power on site as a backup though. How do I set up a consultation or taste test? We usually run our consultations and taste tests on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. If you are unable to make it during those time slots we can accommodate another time. Consultations are free of charge whereas taste tests have a $60 fee. Included in the $60 fee is 10 items from our catering menu with a maximum of four meats. It covers 2 guests, but additional guests can be added as well. It equals enough food for a full meal, so we recommend not eating a meal prior to coming. Can’t I just eat at the restaurant to find out what your food is like? Although you may be able to eat at the restaurant, you will not have someone from our team walking through each item and answering all of your questions. Most importantly, the majority of the catering items are not available at our restaurant. Can we add something that is not on your menu? Yes, we encourage clients to incorporate their personal touch to their menu. If there is a certain dish that would enhance your event or that represents yourself, feel free to mention it to us and we will do our best to incorporate our own version of the dish into the event menu. What payment methods do you accept? We accept cash, cheque, interact e-transfer, and credit card. There is a maximum of $2500.00 by credit card. There is a 3% processing fee if you choose to pay more than $2500.00 by credit card.

Can you accommodate allergies? Yes, we are comfortable accommodating all kinds of food allergies and dietary restrictions. All of our meats and sauces are gluten free. We have vegetarian & vegan options, as well as more gluten free choices. When do I need to give my final guest count? The final guest count, timeline and menu is due 10 days prior to the event. All other changes made within 10 days of your event are subject to a $100 administration fee. What is your cancelation & date change policy? All deposits are non-refundable. You are able to put your deposit towards a future date if there is availability. There is a date change fee of $500 due to us having to turn away other clients while you had the spot reserved. What styles of service do you offer? We offer Cocktail/Passed, Buffet, Sit Down Plated, and Family Style service. There are pros and cons of each service style. The most common style is definitely buffet style whereas Sit Down Plated and Family Style are used for more formal events. Once we know a bit more about your event we can recommend which style will work best for you. Can I do a pick up or drop off of the food? For less formal events we can offer a pick up or drop off of the food. With Pick Up events you would pick up the food from our restaurant in aluminum pans. It would still include plates, napkins, cutlery, sauces, and serving utensils. With drop off orders Is there a travel charge? Yes, we charge $0.75 per kilometre with a minimum of 40 kilometres. What do the staff wear on site? Our staff has a strict uniform policy. We have black golf shirts with our logo, black pants/shorts and skirts, along with black shoes. During the colder nights we have ¾ zips and long sleeve plaid shirts. Do you have rentals and additional services? Yes, we are a one-stop-shop. We are happy to arrange any event rentals you need such as tents, chairs, tables, linens, flatware, glassware – and almost anything else you can think of! We can also arrange other services such as Ice Delivery, Transportation Shuttles, & Portable Washrooms. Just let us know what you need & we will include those items in your catering package quote. Do you provide bar services? Yes, we can provide various bar services. We can provide the full bar set up including alcohol, mix, limes/lemons, ice and glassware. There is a minimum of $1000.00 for the full bar. We can also provide just the bartenders at $25.00 an hour with a minimum of 5 hours. We typically have a minimum of two bartenders for safety reasons. What is the service fee? The 15% service fee is included in all catering orders. The service fee covers the use of equipment, liability insurance fees, permits and other administrative costs such as packing and clean up, site visits and coordination with third party companies. Please note that the service fee is not a gratuity. When is final payment due? The final payment is due once the final invoice is sent over after the event. There is a 50% deposit due 30 days prior to the event.
