Objective

• Track the success of your Facebook page through Insights

• Learn about the Likes, Reach, Visits, Posts, and People sections of Insights

• Understand how to export Insights data into Excel for more detailed information

Goals

• The goals of your business should back each post shared and every image uploaded onto Facebook

• When creating posts ask yourself:

– How will this help me reach my quantitative goal?

– How will this improve my qualifications and boost my company as a competitor in it’s market?

Measure

• The success of your Facebook can be tracked by using Facebook Insights

• This can be found at the top of your businesses page under the Insights tab

• While viewing each section of Insights, Facebook will automatically display data collected from the past 28 days

• To change the dates of the displayed data, adjust the start and end dates in the upper right corner of the page

Measure: Likes

• When a user “Likes” your page, they become a “Follower”

• Followers receive posts from the pages they follow on their Newsfeed

• The more likes your page has, the more exposure it generally receives

• Data from the Likes section includes:– Total Page Likes

– Net Likes

– Where Your Page Likes Came From

Measure: Reach

• Post Reach is the number of people who have viewed your post in their Newsfeed

• Data from the Reach section includes:

– Post Reach

– Likes, Comment and Shares

– Hide, Report as Spam and Unlikes

– Total Reach

Measure: Visits

• To find the number of times that each of your Page tabs has been viewed, look under the Visits section

• You can find more information about the people that have visited your page under the People section

• Data from the Visits section includes:

– Page and Tab Visits

– Other Page Activity

– External Referrers

• Finding out what times and days your followers are on Facebook can be found under the Posts section

• Below, your past posts as well as their times, information, and engagement are displayed

• This information can help your business decide which types of posts are the most successful and what posting times can gain the most exposure

• Creating posts aimed towards your consumer group is extremely important

• Using information such as Gender and Location can help drive posts to your consumers

• Data from the People section includes:– Your Fans

– People Reached

– People Engaged

– Check-ins

Measure: Correlating Sales and Posts

• Compare sales with the different posts shared through your Facebook page

• If you see a correlation between posts and sales, create more posts of that style to drive customers towards your business

• To view more detailed information about your page export your insights data into Excel

• The Export Insights Data box will appear where the data range and other details can be chosen
