Context & Challenges

ü As a pilot project, Nexio Projects worked with Air France KLM procurement and the IT department.

ü The first objective was to assess the carbon footprint from IT procurement (i.e. the purchase of products and services).

ü Once the carbon footprint was determined, the next objective was to develop a way for Air France KLM to effectively reduce these emissions.

ü Air France KLM has established internal sustainability capabilities so the approach that Nexio provided was to provide support where needed. As a result, emissions calculations were performed internally and checked by Nexio Projects.

ü To reduce supply chain emissions, Nexio Projects helped develop a framework for a supplier engagement programme and outlined how such a programme could function and be carried out.

Key Outcomes

“As an EcoVadis partner, Nexio understands our Sustainable Procurement approach and assisted us In our IT Matters project to identify, calculate and visualize the CO2 emissions that are related to our IT activities and IT purchases. It is a great example of teaming up with partners to support our ambitions to become the most sustainable airline group.
